Approving the compensation policy framework for two North-South expressways passing through Nghe An

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has just approved the policy framework for compensation, support and resettlement of the Nghi Son - Dien Chau section investment project and the Dien Chau - Bai Vot section investment project of the North - South expressway construction project in the Eastern phase 2017 - 2020.

The North-South Expressway project is designed to have 6 lanes when completed, with a design speed of 120km/h. In phase 1, the project will have 4 lanes with a speed of 80km/h - Illustrative photo.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Transport and the People's Committees of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces to be responsible for directing the implementation of the approved Policy Frameworks in accordance with the provisions of law.

The project to build several sections of the North-South expressway in the East from Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa province) to Dien Chau (Nghe An province) has a total length of 50km; the Dien Chau (Nghe An) - Bai Vot (Ha Tinh) section has a length of 44.4km.

The Dien Chau - Bai Vot section has its starting point (Km430,000) at the intersection with National Highway 7 in Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province. The project's end point (Km479,150) is at the intersection with National Highway 8A in Duc Thinh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province.

The North-South expressway project, Dien Chau - Bai Vot section, will pass through the communes of Dien Cat, Dien Loi, Dien Tho, Dien Phu of Dien Chau district (10.81km long); Nghi Dong, Nghi Phuong, Nghi My communes of Nghi Loc district (7km long); Hung Trung, Hung Yen Bac, Hung Yen Nam, Hung Tay, Hung Dao, Hung Tan, Hung Thong, Hung Tien, Hung Thang, Hung Chau, Hung Khanh, Hung Phu communes of Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province (26.59km long); Duc Vinh, Yen Ho, Duc Thinh communes of Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province (4.74km long).
