The Investigation Police Agency of Ca Mau Province announced today that it has just urgently arrested Truong Tan Dat (38 years old, residing in Hoa Thanh Commune, Ca Mau City) to investigate the act of "Robbery".
Dat is the suspect in the robbery of a gold shop in Ward 5, Ca Mau City.

According to initial information, at around 8:00 a.m. on October 16, Dat wore a helmet and a mask and went to the aforementioned gold shop pretending to buy a necklace.
When the gold shop owner showed Dat the necklace, he quickly put the gold in his pocket and ran away. The entire incident was recorded by the camera at the gold shop.
Upon receiving the report, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with the Ca Mau City Police to investigate and prosecute.
At around 11:15 am this morning, the police force urgently arrested suspect Dat when he appeared in Khanh An commune, U Minh district.

At the police station, Dat admitted to his crime and stated that he sold the stolen gold for 52 million VND.
Dat spent only about 10 million VND of this money. Dat was sentenced to 3 years in prison for theft by the U Minh District People's Court and completed his sentence in 2016.
