Nearly 40 Thai businesses want to explore investment opportunities in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Within the framework of the visit and working session of the delegation of the Federation of Thai Industries in Nghe An, on the afternoon of November 25, at the hall of Muong Thanh Song Lam Hotel, a seminar on investment, trade and tourism promotion between Nghe An province and the Federation of Thai Industries took place.
Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the discussion. Also attending were representatives of departments, branches, sectors, trade and tourism businesses of Nghe An.
On the side of the delegation of the Federation of Thai Industries, Mr. Thawatchai Hengprasert - Vice President of the Federation led the delegation with Thai enterprises wishing to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in Nghe An.

Nghe An is a province approved by the Government to become the economic and cultural center of the entire North Central region, with a large area, large population, highly trained labor force, rich resources, convenient transportation system, synchronous investment, etc. In 2015, Nghe An's socio-economic development was stable, with an estimated growth rate of 7.34%; education and training had many improvements; cultural and social fields changed positively; foreign affairs and investment promotion were promoted, with focus, attracting many large domestic and foreign investors.
In recent times, the cooperation between Nghe An and Thailand has achieved many positive results. Nghe An has identified Thailand as a leading trade partner and always promotes cooperation and investment with the neighboring country. In the first 10 months of 2015, the export turnover of goods from Nghe An to Thai provinces is estimated at more than 200,000 USD, mainly pine resin, garments, etc. The import turnover of goods from Thailand is estimated at more than 16.2 million USD, the main items are machinery and equipment, motorbikes, raw materials, production accessories, consumer goods, etc.
Nghe An has also cooperated with Thai provinces within the framework of the Association of provinces using Highway 8 and Highway 12 of Vietnam-Laos-Thailand, regularly exchanging and cooperating. Currently, Nghe An has 5 projects of Thai enterprises, with a total investment of 32.1 million USD in the fields of food processing, stone mining, etc.
In the coming time, Nghe An wishes to cooperate with Thailand in industry, agriculture and services, focusing on areas such as clean industry, high-tech industry, agricultural, forestry and fishery processing, handicraft production; safe food processing and farming projects; investment in human resources, healthcare, tourism, etc., proactively integrating and ensuring rapid and sustainable development, especially in the context of the ASEAN Community officially forming on December 31.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa affirmed that with its potential and advantages in attracting investment, trade and tourism, Nghe An wishes to welcome many cooperation opportunities and commits to creating favorable conditions for Thai enterprises and investors to survey and effectively implement investment in the province.

On behalf of the Federation of Thai Industries, Vice President Thawatchai Hengprasert thanked the Provincial People's Committee for the warm welcome and affirmed his desire to explore investment promotion in Central Vietnam - an area with many similarities with Northeast Thailand.
Mr. Thawatchai Hengprasert emphasized that among nearly 40 Thai enterprises participating in the seminar, there are 24 enterprises that are looking for opportunities to cooperate and invest in Nghe An. He hopes that the seminar will be a premise for more direct and specific exchanges between Nghe An and Thai enterprises in the coming time.
