Nearly 99% of voters in Nghe An cast ballots to elect National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels.
(Baonghean.vn) - Assessment of Nghe An Provincial Election Committee shows that, in general, voters are excited, enthusiastic, and actively participate in the election, fulfilling the responsibilities, rights, and obligations of each citizen.
Along with 69 million voters nationwide, on May 23, more than 2 million voters across the province were present at more than 3,200 polling stations to elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.
Voters across the province voted to elect 13 National Assembly deputies, 83 provincial People's Council deputies, 737 district-level People's Council deputies and 10,993 commune-level People's Council deputies.
According to the report of the Provincial Election Committee, as of 9:00 p.m. on May 23, there were 2,072,567 voters out of 2,098,725 on the list who went to vote, reaching 98.8% of the voters on the list (there was 01 unit that extended the voting time until 9:00 p.m. to end); there were 2 localities with 100% voter turnout, namely Quy Chau district and Cua Lo town, the lowest district was 96.5%.

Assessing the election, Director of the Department of Home Affairs Le Dinh Ly said that at the polling stations, the election took place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations. Although the Covid-19 epidemic situation had many complicated developments, the weather was hot, and traffic was difficult in some places, voters in all polling stations went to vote with a joyful and excited spirit.
The assessment of the Provincial Election Committee shows that public opinion and voters highly appreciate the qualifications and abilities of candidates for the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels. Most voters enthusiastically elect worthy representatives to represent the aspirations of the people.
The opening ceremony was solemnly organized, ensuring Covid-19 prevention and control in accordance with regulations. At the polling stations, sufficient resources, facilities, and medical equipment were arranged for epidemic prevention and control according to regulations of the Ministry of Health.
Security and order at all polling stations were ensured, with no situations or hot spots disrupting the election.
