Bishop of Vinh Diocese inaugurates Trang Bon parish church

(Baonghean.vn) - After nearly 8 years of construction, Trang Bon parish church, Nam Hung commune, Nam Dan district has been completed.

On the morning of October 8, parishioners solemnly held the inauguration ceremony.

Attending the ceremony were Bishop Alphonso Nguyen Huu Long - Bishop of Vinh Diocese, guest priests and many parishioners inside and outside Trang Bon parish, Trang Den parish.

Trang Bon parish in Nam Hung commune was established in 2010, starting from 15 households in Van Dien commune who migrated here to settle down in the 50s and 60s of the 20th century. Currently, the parish has 64 households and 247 people.

After decades of efforts to develop the economy and build a new life, now with the conditions and permission of the government and diocese, Trang Bon parish has built a church as a place for religious activities.

According to the design, the project located in Hung Thanh hamlet, Nam Hung commune includes a church 37m long, 14.5m wide and a bell tower 37m high.

Construction started in 2012 and after more than 7 years and 8 months, the project was completed with a cost of nearly 7 billion VND.

At the ceremony, Bishop Alphonso Nguyen Huu Long cut the ribbon, blessed the church and dedicated the altar of Trang Bon parish.

After inauguration, the new spacious church will meet the religious needs of parishioners in the parish.
