Do Luong parishioners donate 15 billion VND and nearly 3,000 m2 of land to build new rural areas
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2018, the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" in Do Luong district (Nghe An) had the active participation of Catholic compatriots.
Typical examples include parishioners from Da Tro - Dai Son, Chi Phuong - Quang Son, Bot Da - Da Son, and Luu My - Tru Son parishes.
The parish of Luu My - Tru Son alone has built 1.2 km of concrete road with a total value of over 1.5 billion VND, of which the contribution of parishioners is 350 million VND. The parishioners have also removed 255m of the surrounding wall, donating 359m2 land and 520 working days.

Chi Phuong - Quang Son parish built 1.5km of concrete road worth 2.2 billion VND, people contributed 800 million VND, removed 368m of surrounding wall, donated 615m2land and 1022 working days.
Synthesizing from all levels, recently, parishioners in Do Luong area have donated 15 billion VND, nearly 3,000 m2land for new rural construction, thereby creating a spacious appearance for parishes and chapels.
Up to now, 8/14 communes with Catholics in Do Luong have met the new rural standards. The rate of rich and well-off households in 2018 among Catholics was 56.5%; average households accounted for 36%.
