Tornado blows away roofs of houses in Nghe An border district

On May 22, Na Ngoi Commune Party Secretary Vu Ba Ly said that in the commune, 4 households were seriously affected by natural disasters.

Specifically, on the afternoon of May 21, a tornado occurred in Na Ngoi commune, although it only lasted about 15 minutes, the strong wind damaged 4 houses of people in Ka Tren and Ka Duoi villages. Of which, 2 houses had their roofs completely blown off; the remaining 2 houses had part of their roofs blown off, wooden walls collapsed, part of the corrugated iron roof and damaged some household appliances and furniture.

Two households had their roofs blown off and completely collapsed by the storm, namely Mr. Xong Ba Chia and Mr. Xong Ba Chua in Ka Tren village.

"The storm only lasted about 10 minutes, but the wind was very strong and quite unexpected, and it happened so quickly that people did not have time to resist or prepare. Today (May 22), the weather in Na Ngoi is extremely hot again. The unusual weather has significantly affected people's lives, activities, and production," added Mr. Vu Ba Ly.

According to the forecast of the North Central Hydrometeorological Station, from May 22 to the end of May, the weather in Nghe An will have unusual developments, the heat is expected to decrease and there will be widespread rain in the last days of the month, especially in the western districts.

With the transition from intense heat to rain, tornadoes, hail, and gusts of wind are likely to occur, affecting housing and daily life. People need to be extremely cautious and take preventive measures to minimize damage.
