Two major fires overnight in Vinh City
(Baonghean.vn) - In the dark of night, residents of Vinh Tan ward (Vinh city) detected a burning smell and ran out to see that a sofa and foam mattress factory of a local household was burning fiercely.
The fire at the foam mattress factory occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on October 25 in Block 2, Vinh Tan Ward (Vinh City).
At this time, people suddenly smelled an unpleasant burning smell. When they ran outside, they discovered flames and a high column of smoke rising from the sofa and foam mattress factory of Mr. Tran Quang Tien (in block 2 of Vinh Tan ward). Immediately, people in the neighborhood shouted to put out the fire and reported it to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, Fire Police Force No. 1, Fire Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) mobilized 100 officers and soldiers along with 7 fire trucks and 1 high-capacity pump to the scene to put out the fire.
However, because the fire scene was located deep in a small alley, it was difficult for firefighters to reach the scene. In addition, the foam mattress factory contained many flammable materials and the weather was dry, so the fire quickly spread, burning down the entire factory.
By 9 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically under control and prevented from spreading to the warehouse behind and the surrounding residential area. However, all furniture and materials in the factory were burned down. Initial property damage was estimated at hundreds of millions of dong. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

* Also on the night of October 25, at around 8:00 p.m., some people discovered fire and smoke coming from a level 4 house with wooden pillars and brick walls located in alley 29, Tran Binh Trong street, Dai Loi block, Dong Vinh ward (Vinh city).
People shouted to each other to try to put out the fire, but because the house was made of wood, the fire quickly spread and engulfed the house, the smoke column was dozens of meters high, making manual fire extinguishing ineffective.

The fire was brought under control in about an hour. There were no casualties, but the entire house was burned to the frame, the roof tiles collapsed, the wooden pillars were blackened, and some objects in the house were burned.

Currently, authorities are assessing the damage and clarifying the cause of the fire.
