(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of February 19, January 15, tens of thousands of tourists and Buddhist monks and nuns from inside and outside the province made a pilgrimage to Duc Hau Pagoda (Vinh City) to participate in the National Peace and Prosperity Prayer Ceremony.

The ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity has been held at Duc Hau Pagoda for many years, but this year the pagoda welcomed the largest number of Buddhists and visitors to pay homage. The ceremony consisted of three parts: In the first part, Buddhists listened to songs praising their homeland performed by art troupes in the province; In the second part, they prayed together according to the sutras; In the third part, Buddhists went up to the altar to offer flowers to the Buddha. |

Venerable Thich Dinh Tue believes that offering a rose to Buddha Shakyamuni is a way for us to dedicate our spirituality, repent for things that are not mindful or complete, and vow to do the best for those around us. "If we give life a flower, we will receive the fragrance of thousands of flowers in return. With that meaning, from the first years of the organization, the pagoda has chosen roses as the offering for Buddhists and visitors to offer to Buddha" - Venerable Thich Dinh Tue - abbot of Duc Hau Pagoda, Head of the organizing committee of the ceremony said. |
