Table tennis beauty queen Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong competes in Nghe An

In addition to athletes from Vinh city, the tournament also saw the participation of athletes from Ha Tinh and Hai Duong provinces. Among them, female athlete Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong from Hai Duong was voted as thebeauty queenat the 2021 Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship.

Mai Phuong took the field in the first match to open the team event. Her lovely beauty, fast and skillful ball handling, her strong point in both sides, and her good left-handed backhand made the audience at the stadium admire and praise her.

With her talent discovered early, combined with proper training and a strong will to practice, at the age of 13, Mai Phuong won the women's singles championship at the National Youth Tennis Tournament. In 2019, at the Southeast Asian tournament, Mai Phuong was a member of the Vietnamese team and won the Bronze Medal in the women's team, and the Silver Medal in the women's doubles with Tran Mai Ngoc of Hanoi T&T.

At the 2020 national youth tournament, Mai Phuong won 1 Gold Medal in women's doubles, 1 Silver Medal in team, 1 Silver Medal in mixed doubles and 1 Bronze Medal in women's singles.
