The pitiful situation of a 9th grade male student who had a traffic accident

In the past few days, in a small house in Lam Hong hamlet, Mrs. Nguyen Thi My (57 years old) - Vinh's mother - has been restless because she is worried about her son's life in the hospital.

Mrs. My said: On the afternoon of December 17, Vinh rode his bike to the People's Committee of Ngoc Son commune to receive the poverty subsidy. On the way, Vinh was unfortunately hit by a motorbike moving in the opposite direction.

The head-on collision left her with serious head injuries, a broken arm, and unconsciousness on the spot... People at the scene quickly took her to the hospital for emergency treatment. "At around 4:30 p.m., I didn't see her come back, so I went looking for her and heard from the neighbors that she had an accident and was taken to the hospital," Mrs. My said sadly.

Vinh is the only child in a family of two. Mrs. My is the daughter of a martyr and a single mother. Mrs. My also has mental health problems.

For the past 14 years, mother and daughter have relied on each other to live in poverty and arepoor householdfor many years of the commune. In the program to eliminate dilapidated houses, local organizations joined hands to build a 2-room house of gratitude for the mother and her children.

In addition to farming 2 sao of rice fields, the mother and daughter often go to catch snails, crabs, cut brooms on the mountain, dig pennywort in the fields... to cover daily expenses. In the housecharity house, nothing valuable. On days when I came home late from work or school, mother and daughter would busily light a fire to cook rice in the small kitchen.

Understanding his family's situation and loving his mother, Vinh always has the awareness to be diligent and try hard in studying and working. Vinh is considered by his teachers to be a good student and has good academic performance. He is currently studying in class 9A, Ngoc Son Secondary School.

Life was already poor, it was difficult to worry about food, let alone shopping and medical treatment. Now that her son had an accident and had to be taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, Mrs. My could only rely on her brothers and neighbors. The person who has been taking care of, worrying about, and treating Vinh at the hospital these past few days is Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai - the wife of Mrs. My's younger brother. Ms. Hai has even given up her own work to take care of her grandson.

From Hanoi, over the phone, Ms. Hai said in a choked sob: At the Intensive Care Unit of Nghe An Orthopedic Trauma Hospital, Vinh had 5 CT scans of his brain and was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage, with a very serious prognosis. After 3 days of treatment here, he is still unconscious.

On the evening of December 21, Vinh was transferred to Viet Duc Hospital (Hanoi). After examination and brain scan, doctors informed him that he had severe damage to the top of his brain, could not undergo surgery and may require long-term treatment.

“Currently, my child is still in critical condition, in a deep coma. I feel so sorry for him. No matter how difficult it is, there is still a way to save his life,” Ms. Hai shared.

Talking about Nguyen Thanh Vinh's family situation, Mr. Nguyen Dang Huong - Vice Chairman of Ngoc Son Commune People's Committee shared: Vinh's family hassituationso pitiful, a particularly difficult household in the commune. Right after hearing the news of the accident, my homeroom teacher and some other teachers went to the child's house to visit and encourage him.
