Thai Hoa students won first prize in the 'Pride of Vietnam' contest
(Baonghean.vn) - Teacher Le Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Youth Union of Thai Hoa High School said that the video clip "News #55: Returning to Thai Hoa" by 3 students of the school was awarded First Prize at the 2nd "Proud of Vietnam" National History and Culture Competition in 2017 organized by the Central Youth Union in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training.

The award was presented by the Organizing Committee on the afternoon of December 3 in Hanoi. Speaking to reporters, teacher Le Anh Tuan said that Thai Hoa High School had received a notice from the Organizing Committee that the video clip “News #55: Returning to Thai Hoa” was one of the 10 award-winning clips in the contest.
However, it was not until today, at the official award ceremony, that the Organizing Committee officially announced the awards. Accordingly, surpassing more than 500 clips of students nationwide, the video clip of 3 students Le Anh Tuan, Nguyen Thai Phong and Pham Huyen Trang, students of class 12A1 of the school won First Prize.
“My teachers and students were really surprised when we were announced as the first prize winners in the video clip category,” Mr. Tuan emotionally shared. “This is the second time our students have won first prize in this competition. At the first “Proud of Vietnam” competition, held in 2015, 3 students from the school also won first prize in the video clip category with the song “Thai Hoa Trong Toi”.
Video clip “News #55: Returning to Thai Hoa”
The video clip “News #55: Returning to Thai Hoa” is over 6 minutes long with very attractive and lively music introducing the geography, history, landscapes, and attractive cuisine of the town on the Hieu River.
Those are Sao Sa mountain peak, Bau Sen lake, Hieu bridge, Lang Vac festival, ancient tamarind trees in Tay Ho 1 block, Quang Tien ward planted since the French colonial period.
The cuisine of Nghe An with the flavor of the red basalt plateau is also cleverly introduced by the students in the song with dishes such as banh beo, chao canh, banh hoa nau, honey... The students wrote the lyrics and filmed the MV in about 10 days and then submitted it to the contest.

The contest includes a knowledge contest and a video clip contest. For the video clip contest, the evaluation criteria include: content, creativity, and impact on viewers through sound and image.
Participating in the 2nd National History and Culture Competition: Pride of Vietnam in 2017, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union also received a collective award for the category of provincial and municipal youth union with the largest number of participating students.
Tan Ky High School is also one of five schools nationwide to win the award for the school with the highest percentage of students participating in the competition.

The contest to learn about the history and culture of the nation "Pride of Vietnam" is for high school students and students studying the high school continuing education program at vocational education and continuing education centers nationwide.
The purpose of the contest is to create a healthy and useful playground for union members and students, to arouse the spirit of passion for learning history, patriotism, national pride, and responsibility of Vietnamese youth in studying, training, establishing themselves, starting a career, and participating in building and defending the Fatherland./.
