Conference of prisoners' families at Nghe An Police Detention Camp
(Baonghean.vn) - The conference listened to the sharing and thoughts of prisoners, their families, and good examples of community reintegration. This is the motivation for prisoners to try to reform and soon return to their families and society.
On the morning of August 13, Nghe An Provincial Police Detention Center held the 2018 Prisoner Family Conference.

The conference of prisoners' families is organized by the Nghe An Provincial Police Detention Center every two years. This is an opportunity for the detention center, families and prisoners to meet and discuss issues related to management, education, vocational training and support for prisoners' integration into the community.
At the conference, families and inmates listened to the leaders of the Detention Center report on the management, education, vocational training and community integration support for inmates. Currently, the Provincial Police Detention Center is managing and educating more than 100 inmates, all of whom are first-time offenders, less serious, and have sentences of less than 5 years.
Over the past time, the work of detention, management and education of prisoners has been well implemented by the Camp. The Camp has also organized for prisoners to work, study and practice; fully implemented the regimes and policies for prisoners.
In addition, the Camp organized 5 reintegration skills education classes for 202 people who were about to complete their prison sentences.

Also at the conference, representatives of prisoners serving prison sentences at the Detention Center and their families spoke. The prisoners and their families thanked the Center for its care and education so that the prisoners could have good rehabilitation conditions and be equipped with skills to soon return to their families and society.
The conference also heard the sharing of typical examples of progress in reintegrating into the community, striving to do business, develop family economy, and contribute to society. This is the motivation for prisoners serving prison sentences to make efforts to reform in order to receive clemency and return to their hometowns soon.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Trong Dung - Warden of the Detention Center affirmed that the conference is a meaningful activity, creating a forum, a private space for prisoners and their families to meet and share their thoughts and aspirations; at the same time, it is an opportunity for prisoners, their relatives and officers and soldiers of the Detention Center to exchange and discover difficulties and obstacles in the process of serving their sentences.
After the conference, recommendations and proposals under the responsibility of the Detention Center will be focused on directing and implementing seriously and effectively. For contents under the authority of superiors, the camp will synthesize reports and proposals to take steps to remove difficulties so that the execution of prison sentences will be increasingly better.

Emphasizing the important role of the family in educating and helping prisoners become useful people for their families and society, the leaders of the Detention Center hope that families will promote their roles and responsibilities, closely coordinate with the camp and prison officers in understanding their thoughts and feelings, providing spiritual encouragement, material support and other legal obligations, and always accompany the camp's management in caring for their children.
From here, create favorable conditions for prisoners to realize their mistakes, resolutely break away from the past, strive to work, study, learn a trade, and soon return to their families, relatives and the community.
