National Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities "Training - Research - Application"

The workshop is one of the meaningful activities in the series of activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment.Vinh University(1959 - 2024). Attending the workshop were lecturers and scientists from many training institutions across the country, representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Dr. Hac Xuan Canh - Vice Principal of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vinh University emphasized that Social Sciences and Humanities is a special field, an interdisciplinary science that studies the changes and developments of cultures, ideologies, societies, philosophies, principles, valuable aspects related to humans, human activities and the laws created by human relationships in social life.

Along with Natural Sciences, Technology and Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities play a fundamental role, directly influencing the orientation and formation of many national values.

With the great role in promoting the development of culture, society and people, in recent decades, the training, research and application of Social Sciences and Humanities have received more and more attention and have had clear changes. However, compared to Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, the investment as well as the achievements that Social Sciences and Humanities bring are still very modest. The training, research and application of Social Sciences and Humanities are still slow to innovate, not keeping up with the development of society.

Dr. Hac Xuan Canh also said that the 4.0 industrial revolution with artificial intelligence (AI) as the foundation has been bringing about great changes to social life, bringing many opportunities but also posing many challenges for the field of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The application of artificial intelligence can change many issues in the way of thinking, working, teaching and researching in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities. At the same time, finding solutions to overcome the challenges of the 4.0 revolution can also be considered new discoveries, a land full of potential for research in Social Sciences and Humanities.

That shows that a current requirement is to strongly innovate the training, research and application of Social Sciences and Humanities to adapt to the new context of the world.

Recognizing the urgent needs today in finding strong solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of training, research and application of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Scientific Conference: "Social Sciences and Humanities: Training - Research - Application" is an opportunity for scientists, teachers, learners and researchers to recognize and evaluate the achievements, limitations, difficulties and problems of training, research and application in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On that basis, find solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of training, research and application in particular and promote the strengths of the field of Social Sciences and Humanities in general.

Previously, to prepare for this conference, the Organizing Committee received nearly 50 presentations from scientists, managers, lecturers, researchers, students, etc. from many universities, colleges, and research institutions across the country such as Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, etc. At the conference, the presentations will focus on the following issues: Training and research in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities; applications in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Through the workshop, the Organizing Committee also hopes to continue to deepen the opportunities, challenges and requirements for Social Sciences and Humanities in the context of digital transformation and the development of artificial intelligence. At the same time, clarify the scientific, political and legal bases, including clarifying the urgent requirements in innovating training, research and application of Social Sciences and Humanities in the current period.

In addition, from the assessment of the current situation, requirements, opportunities, challenges and solutions to promote international cooperation in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities, recommendations on mechanisms and policies for management agencies will be suggested to develop training, research and application activities in Social Sciences and Humanities to meet the requirements of the new context./.
