The first National Defense and Security Sports Festival was held in Nghe An.
(Baonghean.vn) - For 3 days (from December 28 to 31), at Regiment 764, Nghi Kim Commune (Vinh City), 621 students from 69 high schools across the province will participate in the first National Defense and Security Sports Festival, 2020.
On the morning of December 28, at Regiment 764, the Provincial Military Command and the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province opened the first National Defense and Security Sports Festival for high school students in 2020.

Attending the opening ceremony were Prof. Dr. Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training, Head of the Sports Festival Organizing Committee; Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Colonel Dang Duc Mau - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command; along with representatives of the Provincial Police, Regiment 764 and related departments, agencies and branches.

The sports festival is organized with the aim of evaluating the quality of teaching and learning of the subject of National Defense and Security at high school level, thereby contributing to improving the level of management and organization of the implementation of the subject's curriculum, promoting the emulation movement of learning and exchanging experiences in National Defense and Security education between schools.
Through the sports festival, discover and nurture groups and individuals with high achievements in studying and training. Replicating typical examples and proposing practical solutions, continuing to direct the good implementation of national defense and security education in the following years.

The sports festival was attended by 621 students from 69 high schools across the province.
During the 3 days, the contestants performed 9 competition contents including: unit teams, individual teams without guns, first aid bandaging, grenade throwing, disassembling and assembling AK submachine guns and a test of general knowledge about national defense - security, history and traditions of the Vietnam People's Army, Military Region 4, and the provincial armed forces.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training emphasized: The sports festival is organized to test and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning of National Defense and Security Education in high schools, contributing to improving the level of management and organization of the implementation of the subject's curriculum content, while promoting the emulation movement of studying, practicing, enhancing exchange and learning with other units, raising awareness to build and protect the Fatherland.
