On the morning of June 5, at 72 testing locations across the province, more than 44,000 candidates across the province will enter the first day of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year.
This is the exam with the highest number of candidates ever, 7,000 more than the previous exam season.

This is also considered the most difficult exam when the whole province has only over 36,000 quotas for public schools and about 8,000 candidates will not be admitted in this exam. In particular, Vinh city, Do Luong, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Hoang Mai town and some districts adjacent to Vinh city such as Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Cua Lo town are the localities with the highest competition rates. Before this exam, the Department of Education and Training had to simultaneously increase classes and quotas in most schools in the province to reduce pressure on candidates.

To prepare for this year's exam, Nghe An province has mobilized more than 6,200 people to work on the exam, including more than 4,400 people working as invigilators, including high school and middle school teachers.
To ensure the exam takes place seriously, safely and in accordance with regulations, Nghe An province has established four mobile inspection teams to inspect the organization of the exam at all examination councils.
In recent days, preparations for the 10th grade entrance exam have been carried out seriously by localities and examination councils.
In Thanh Chuong district, with the characteristics of a district with up to 7 examination sites with more than 3,500 candidates, many of whom have to cross rivers and ferries, the district People's Committee has requested all functional forces to join in organizing the exam with a high sense of responsibility.
During the exam days, there must be no power outages at exam locations, and no traffic jams at locations such as Ru Nguoc and Giang River suspension bridge that could affect the exam schedule and travel of candidates.
In addition, the district has also worked with investors and construction units in the area, requesting that construction be stopped during the two days of rush hour to allow traffic to circulate normally.

This year's 10th grade entrance exam will be held over 2 days, June 5 and 6, with 3 subjects including Literature - Math (essay format) and Foreign Language (multiple choice format). The exam results will be used for admission to 10th grade and will be one of the bases for admission to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. This is the last exam to be conducted according to the current 2006 Education Program. From the next school year, students will take the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.
