At 5:30 p.m. on April 22, dozens of young men from two groups of "gangsters" wearing masks, holding knives, machetes... rushed into a melee on Truong Sa Street, at the intersection with Le Van Sy (in Ward 14, District 3).
The shouts of attack, chasing and slashing each other; the sound of weapons clashing... caused chaos in the area. Houses near the scene closed their doors, passersby panicked and turned around to run away.
The melee lasted more than 10 minutes, leaving many people injured and taken away from the area by two groups of young men.

According to witnesses, several gunshots were heard as two gangs fought. Someone ran into a roadside restaurant to grab a knife to resist, then calmly returned it to the owner before retreating.
"They were screaming, chasing each other with long knives, making a ruckus in the area. A young man was holding something that looked like a silver gun... I was so scared that I ran into my house and closed the door," said a woman living near the scene.
At 7:30 p.m., the police were still taking statements from people and investigating the incident.
