Detonation of a 350kg bomb in Thai Hoa

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 4, the Military Command of Thai Hoa town coordinated with the engineering force of the Military Command of Nghe An province to safely detonate a 350kg bomb.

Previously, on November 1, during the process of leveling the ground and renovating the garden, Mr. Tran Van Cuong in Hamlet 5B, Nghia Thuan Commune, Thai Hoa Town discovered a 1.6m long, 550 pound, equivalent to 350kg antipersonnel bomb in his family's garden. This was a bomb left over from the war dropped by the US.

After receiving information from the people, the People's Committee of Nghia Thuan commune and the Military Command of Thai Hoa town organized forces to cordon off the dangerous area, guard it, and mobilize forces to move the bomb out of the residential area for handling.

On the afternoon of November 4, the engineering force of the provincial military command and the town military command successfully and safely detonated this bomb in a forest in Yen Tho hamlet, Nghia My commune, Thai Hoa town.
