Successfully detonated a 340kg bomb in Thai Hoa town

On the morning of December 27, the Military Command of Thai Hoa town coordinated with the Engineering DepartmentNghe An Provincial Military Commandsuccessfully detonated a 340kg bomb left over from the war.

According to a source from the Thai Hoa Town Military Command: At 10:45 a.m. on December 25, at the foot of Hieu 1 Bridge in Hoa Hieu Ward, Thai Hoa Town, fishermen discovered a strange object suspected to be a bomb left over from the war, so they reported it to the local authorities and functional agencies.

After receiving the report, the Thai Hoa Town Military Command organized forces to go to the scene to verify the information and determined that the object was a bomb left over from the war lying at the bottom of the river, about 50 to 80cm from the water surface, 1.5 to 2m from the river edge, and 15 to 20m from the foot of Hieu 1 Bridge.

After determining the information, the Thai Hoa town military command reported to the local authorities and commanders at all levels. At the same time, they cordoned off the area, put up warning signs in the bomb-prone area, informed the people in the area about the situation, and mobilized the police and militia of Hoa Hieu ward to organize 24/7 vigilance.

Through identification, the bomb was a demolition bomb with an intact detonator, 1.2m long, 41cm in diameter, weighing 340kg, and the outer surface was rusted.

Using professional measures, the Engineering Department of the Provincial Military Command neutralized the detonator, coordinated with the Military Command of Thai Hoa town and the Military Command of Hoa Hieu ward to move the bomb to the detonation site in Yen Xuan hamlet, Nghia My commune, Thai Hoa town and successfully destroyed it, ensuring absolute safety./.
