(Baonghean.vn) - Faced with the situation of people slaughtering livestock at home, potentially spreading disease, Ky Son district (Nghe An) has required households to bring livestock to centralized slaughterhouses to ensure safety. If centralized slaughter is not carried out, households will be fined according to regulations.

Centralized slaughterhouse of border districtKy Sonput into operation since the beginning of 2019, serving the slaughter of livestock in Muong Xen town, Ta Ca commune, Huu Kiem commune and part of Huu Lap commune. The total state capital invested in building this slaughterhouse is 5 billion VND. Each day, the slaughterhouse can slaughter over 30 pigs and cows.

Although it has been put into operation, recently, some households have not complied with the regulation of bringing livestock into the park.slaughterhouseConcentrated slaughtering at home. This poses a risk of spreading disease, especially at a time when African swine fever is re-emerging in some communes in Ky Son; in addition, it also causes environmental pollution, and food hygiene and safety are not controlled.

It is worth mentioning that the fact that people do not bring livestock to the slaughterhouse causes the district's largest and most modern centralized slaughterhouse to always be deserted.

Faced with that situation, the District People's CommitteeKy SonA team was set up to inspect the slaughtering of livestock in the area and food safety. The inspection process showed that some households refused to bring livestock to the slaughterhouse but slaughtered them at home. The district asked the households to sign a commitment and issued reminders to these households.

In the coming time, Ky Son district will increase its force to inspect and handle this issue. If households have signed a commitment but do not comply, we will proceed to impose penalties according to the Government's regulation 90/ND-CP dated July 31, 2017 on penalties for administrative violations in the veterinary field.
