The man who held a knife and robbed a female medical student at night was arrested.

(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City Police said that they have just arrested the suspect who robbed a medical student in the early morning of March 16 in Mau Lam hamlet, Hung Loc commune (Vinh City).

After 8 days of investigation, the Criminal Police Team on Social Order (Vinh City Police) arrested the suspect who robbed a student of Vinh Medical University in the early morning of March 16.

Initial information, the subject's name is Phan Quoc Manh (residing in Hung Loc commune, Vinh city). The police have seized the stolen items.

Although the door was locked and bolted from the inside, the thief still broke the lock, used a knife to control and steal Ms. Anh's property.

Speaking to reporters, Colonel Tran Ngoc Tu, Chief of Vinh City Police, said that the police are currently taking statements from the suspect to clarify the robbery to serve the investigation.

Previously, as reported by Nghe An Newspaper, at around 2am on March 16, while sleeping, Ms. Hoang Thi My Anh, a first-year student at Vinh Medical University, discovered a subject sneaking into her rented room. While she was about to scream, the subject held a knife to Ms. Anh's neck and forced her to lie still on the bed, cover herself with a blanket and sleep. The subject rummaged through the room and took a laptop, a phone, and 370,000 VND from her wallet.

Before that, the subject broke the lock of the outside gate, opened the window of another rented room, searched the bag but did not take anything.

Immediately after the incident, Ms. Anh’s friends reported it to the Hung Loc commune police. At around 9:30 a.m., Vinh City Police arrived at the scene to make a record of the incident and take the victim’s statement.

At the investigation agency, Manh confessed that before entering Ms. Anh's room, Manh had broken open the window of another room in the row and stolen a laptop belonging to Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ngoc (from Thanh Chuong district). At that time, Ms. Anh was not in the room.

It is known that Phan Quoc Manh, born in 1980, works as a taxi driver and has a criminal record.
