Bank robbery plan of two unemployed men
Nguyen Van Hieu and Nguyen Thanh Tung brought a lighter and a knife to the Vietinbank transaction office to rob 500 million VND, but lost 300 million VND on the way to escape.
On March 8, Hieu, 31 years old, and Tung, 41 years old, were being detained by the Bac Tu Liem District Police to clarify their robbery behavior.
According to the police, Nguyen Van Hieu (born in 1991), residing in Duc Thang ward, Bac Tu Liem district; Nguyen Thanh Tung (born in 1981), residing in Thanh Xuan Bac ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi do not have stable jobs,debtmany should know each other through the groupAssociation of bankrupt people who want to take riskson social networks. Hieu confessed that he had gone to the Vietinbank transaction office in Xuan Tao ward, Bac Tu Liem district to ask about loan procedures, so he chose this place to commit the crime. Hieu invited Tung to join him.
After two rounds of observing the number of employees and security guards, Hieu asked Tung to give him 1.4 million VND to buy a black lighter gun, two sharp knives, 5 pairs of white gloves, 2 sets of raincoats, a pair of black canvas shoes and 2 blue baseball helmets...
They agreed that if they robbed the money, they would split it in half and throw away the weapon in Dong Anh district. On the afternoon of March 6, the two met to divide the costumes and finalize the plan.

At around 7:30 a.m. on March 7, Hieu put all his "tools" in his backpack and rode his motorbike, removed the license plate, from the motel on Me Tri Street to Hoang Minh Thao Street, near the crime scene, to meet Tung. More than an hour later, the two arrived at the Vietinbank transaction office, parked their motorbikes on the sidewalk, and walked in.
According to the authorities, they pretended to be a customer asking to withdraw money, but immediately pulled out a gun and lighter to threaten the staff and stole 500 million VND. However, after running about 20 meters, the two men got into a traffic accident and dropped 300 million VND and the gun.
On the morning of March 8, after 16 hours of committing the crime, the two suspects were arrested. Police also seized about 200 million VND and 2 knives.
