Opening of Vac Village Festival 2019

This year is the third year that Thai Hoa town People's Committee has organized the festival on the occasion of Hung King's death anniversary.

On the morning of April 14 (March 10 of the lunar calendar), Thai Hoa town held the opening ceremony of the 20th Lang Vac Festival 2019 at the Lang Vac archaeological site in Nghia Hoa commune.
This year's Lang Vac Festival is held for 3 days: April 13, 14, 15, 2019 (ie March 9, 10, 11 of the Lunar calendar). Having been held 19 times, Lang Vac Festival has increasingly affirmed its scale, spiritual value, and unique cultural features of the nation.
This is the third year that Thai Hoa Town People's Committee has organized the festival on the occasion of Hung King's death anniversary.
Before the opening ceremony, Thai Hoa town organized a procession of the Cauldron from the festival grounds to Lang Vac Temple and held a Great Ceremony.

The 20th Lang Vac Festival - 2019 is an activity to continue affirming that the Lang Vac archaeological historical site was inhabited by ancient Vietnamese people 2,000 - 2,500 years ago and traces of the Hung Kings' founding period, according to the legend of Au Co - Lac Long Quan. Since then, the Lac Viet people have promoted the tradition of their ancestors, remembering Uncle Ho's teachings: "The Hung Kings had the merit of founding the country, we, your descendants, must work together to protect the country". Determined to build our homeland to become more and more prosperous and civilized.

National archaeological site Lang Vac in Nghia Hoa commune, Thai Hoa town. After 5 excavations on an area of over 1,400 m2, archaeologists found 347 burial tombs and 1,228 artifacts. The age of the artifacts shows that Lang Vac was the center of Dong Son culture in the Ca River basin, one of the cradles of the ancient Vietnamese people, highly appreciated by domestic and international archaeologists.
Lang Vac Festival is an opportunity for local people and tourists from all over to return to the origin of the Lac Hong race; at the same time, it demonstrates the spirit of community solidarity, educates awareness of protecting, preserving relics, conserving and promoting traditional cultural and historical values.
This is also an opportunity for many people from 10 wards and communes in the town and tourists from all over to come to offer incense to commemorate the Hung Kings at Lang Vac Temple and participate in and cheer on games, and buy local products.
