TAs autumn approaches, the weather becomes milder, and the sun is no longer as scorching as in midsummer. Tourist destinations in Nghe An have seen a significant decrease in visitors, lacking the crowds and hustle and bustle of the previous months. Therefore, to attract tourists during the off-season, the tourism industry and local authorities in the province are developing, exploiting, and promoting autumn-winter tourism products to draw visitors.

Cua Lo town has always been a pioneer in innovating and diversifying products to "retain" tourists during the off-season. According to Mr. Hoang Thanh Son, Head of the Culture and Information Department of the town, this year's Autumn-Winter tourism season will implement many programs to reduce prices for food and accommodation services; improve service quality; and organize events and festivals to attract visitors. The wards will maintain the cultural destinations of the coastal villages that have been established, organizing tours to experience traditional markets, craft villages, and purchase OCOP products such as mackerel, shrimp, and dried squid…

At the same time, Cua Lo town is also renovating and expanding the grounds of historical sites and spiritual destinations, making them more beautiful and spacious. Traditional festivals associated with these sites are held throughout the year. Visitors to Cua Lo will experience the joyful atmosphere of these festivals.

Besides beach tourism, Nghe An also has resources to develop many other types of tourism, including cultural and spiritual tourism. The rich system of historical relics distributed throughout the districts, towns, and cities is a condition for attracting tourists and developing spiritual tourism. Along with the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site (Nam Dan), the system of temples and pagodas is being cared for, restored, protected, and made available to tourists during the end-of-year period by local authorities.

In recent years, the Truông Bồn National Historical Site (Đô Lương) has attracted a large number of pilgrims, becoming a "spiritual destination" for visitors from near and far. Mr. Phan Trọng Lộc, Director of the site, said: Visitors to Truông Bồn are spread evenly throughout the year, with stable numbers even during the autumn and winter months. The management board regularly improves service quality, develops attractions and check-in points, and strengthens promotion to attract tourists, especially during off-peak months.

Famous and sacred temples and pagodas such as Cờn Temple, Quả Temple, Cuông Temple, Ông Hoàng Mười Temple, the temple dedicated to Emperor Quang Trung, Đại Tuệ Pagoda, Gám Pagoda, etc., are always ready to serve tourists who come to admire the beautiful scenery, offer incense, and worship. Especially at the end of the year, when temples and pagodas organize religious activities and thanksgiving ceremonies, they attract a large number of visitors, creating favorable conditions for the development of spiritual and cultural tourism.

After the peak tourist season, when coastal destinations lose some of their appeal, ecotourism and community-based tourism in the Mekong Delta offers a fascinating experience. The Mekong Delta in Nghe An province is considered a "treasure trove" for developing tourism products during the autumn and winter seasons.

Established community-based tourism destinations such as Khe Ran, Nua village, Xieng village (Con Cuong district) and Hoa Tien (Quy Chau district) continue to offer unique attractions with their cultural spaces, cultural exchange programs, and distinctive cuisine. In addition, some newly developed tourism products like Co Muong, Muong Dan (Que Phong district), Yen Hoa (Tuong Duong district), and Bong village (Anh Son district) have also begun to attract tourists for exploration and experience.

A distinctive feature of western Nghe An province is that its community-based tourism destinations are often linked to ecotourism products, creating a strong attraction for visitors. For example, destinations in Con Cuong district are associated with the "Tra Lan region," the Pu Mat mountain range, and the scenic Giang River - Pha Lai area; Hoa Tien (Quy Chau) is linked to the Bua cave and dozens of waterwheels; Muong Dan (Que Phong) is associated with the beauty of the Nam Viet river; and Ban Bong (Anh Son) is linked to the picturesque scenery of the lower reaches of the Con River…

The combination of natural landscapes and the unique cultural life and customs of the ethnic minorities in the Mekong Delta always creates an attraction for visitors from urban areas. Especially the culinary culture of the mountainous people, with dishes rich in the flavors of the mountains and forests such as bamboo rice, five-colored sticky rice, dried beef, black pig, black chicken, and herbal rice wine, will provide unforgettable experiences for tourists.

In recent years, attractive agro-tourism destinations have emerged in the Mekong Delta. These include the fields, valleys, and hills of flowers in Phu Quy, vying to show off their beauty; and orchards laden with ripe fruit, always inviting visitors. Here, certain tourist spots evoke images of stunning scenery and overflowing joy whenever they are mentioned, such as Hon Mat, Truong Gia Farm, and the Phu Quy Flower Fields.

According to Mr. Dang Trong Tan, Director of Hon Mat Tourist Area, tourist destinations in the Phu Quy region are strengthening linkages, cooperation, and product promotion to expand their market, especially during the autumn and winter seasons.

Furthermore, in western Nghe An province, several new adventure tourism products have recently been developed. Particularly noteworthy is the activity of conquering Puxailaileng peak (Ky Son district), which is highly attractive to young people, especially those who enjoy exploration and want to test their courage.

“Conquering Puxailaileng peak, the highest mountain in the Northern Truong Son mountain range, tourists can enjoy majestic and poetic scenery; immerse themselves in the natural landscape, blending with the clouds, mountains, rivers, and plants… The locality is actively promoting its potential and existing products to attract more and more visitors to explore and experience it,” said Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district.

The Department of Tourism is developing a plan to promote and market tourism products for the Autumn-Winter season. This plan focuses on organizing conferences and seminars, participating in trade fairs inside and outside the province, and coordinating with media agencies to promote the products.
