In 2001, Quy Hop district was selected by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and Nghe An province to build a district of mountainous and ethnic minority culture. Up to now, Quy Hop still retains many cultural beauties, and is a charming and unique destination on the tourist map of Nghe An.

Located in the northwest of Nghe An province, Quy Hop is a mountainous district with a favorable geographical location, only 120km from Vinh city and 340km from Hanoi capital. From a difficult mountainous district, Quy Hop district has increasingly changed, flourished and is rich in traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups. In the photo: Dawn in Quy Hop town. Đền Choong
Located at the foot of Pu Den Mountain (meaning Temple Mountain in Thai), in Chau Ly Commune, Quy Hop District, Choong Temple is a sacred temple associated with the legend of Nang Phom Hom (Fragrant Hair Girl) that has been passed down by the locals for generations. The story goes that in the 15th century, a talented general of the Lam Son army fell in love and promised to marry a beautiful and virtuous Thai girl named Nang Phom Hom - Fragrant Hair Girl. Following the General on his long journeys, in the rear, she and the locals worked even harder to cultivate, grow silk and weave. But unfortunately, one afternoon, while missing the General on the battlefield, while washing her hair, she accidentally slipped and was swept away by the water into a deep abyss... Upon receiving the news, the general immediately returned with his soldiers and the people of Muong Choong, trying day and night to find her. But the abyss was too deep, the soil along the Nam Choong river was dug up and piled up into a mountain, but she was nowhere to be found, only strands of fragrant hair were found. Missing her, the people of Muong Choong built a temple on Pu Den mountain - that temple was called Choong temple. Photo: Nguyen Dao

Located on the top of Pu Nha Pom (Goddess Mountain), close to the bank of Nam Huong River, Le Temple (Ban Le Hamlet, Chau Quang Commune, Quy Hop District) is the place to worship the "girl of Ban Le". Legend has it that this is the area where she used her "glance" (Thai: Le ta) to signal the insurgents to charge forward and destroy all the enemy troops on Pu Che Mountain. Photo: Nguyen Dao
