When inter-commune roads 'struggle' to carry overloaded vehicles

According to the reporter's observations, this road is currently in many places degraded, some sections have potholes; many sections are cracked, broken, and sunken. Not only that, dozens of trucks weighing 30-40 tons carrying soil and rocks pass by, many of which do not have tarpaulins, causing materials to fall all over the road, causing environmental pollution. On the other hand, this road passes through a residential area, so at night, trucks carrying construction materials run at high speed, causing anxiety for the people living here.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, village 5, Ngoc Son commune (Quynh Luu district) shared: Every day, hundreds of overloaded trucks carrying soil and rocks run through here. In the dry season, when cars pass by, dust flies everywhere, in the rainy season, the road is as dirty as porridge, there is no dry way to go. People living along this road have complained many times, but the road has not been repaired yet."

Through research, it is known that the Ngoc Son inter-commune road (from National Highway 48B) to Quynh Tan is nearly 7km long, and is a vital route serving the travel needs of people in Quynh Tan and Ngoc Son communes. This road has been damaged for many years, partly due to lack of regular repair and maintenance. Chairman of Ngoc Son Commune People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong shared: In recent days, there has been continuous rain, many sections of the road have been clearly degraded, making it difficult to travel. Due to lack of authority to handle the matter, the Commune People's Committee reported to the District People's Committee to direct the authorities to increase patrols and handle overloaded vehicles; along with that, work with mining units to quickly repair degraded areas, but so far there has been no specific announcement. Meanwhile, overloaded vehicles are still plowing the above road every day.
