Quynh Luu 2 High School received the Third Class Labor Medal: Proud of the 60-year tradition of good teaching and good learning
The year 2025 marks the 60-year journey of construction, growth and glorious development of Quynh Luu 2 High School (1965 - 2025). More than half a decade has passed, despite many hardships and challenges, the School has always been a bright spot in terms of educational quality and gratitude to teachers and students.

The year 2025 marks the 60-year journey of construction, growth and glorious development of Quynh Luu 2 High School (1965 - 2025). More than half a decade has passed, despite many hardships and challenges, the school has always been a bright spot in terms of educational quality and gratitude to teachers and students.
Amidst the fierce war days, in 1965, Quynh Luu 2 High School (now Quynh Luu 2 High School) was established, located at Quynh Van Cultural Relic Site, Quynh Luu District (old), Nghe An Province.
In the early days of establishment, although the scale was only 4 classes with 189 students, teachers and students had to teach and learn in very difficult conditions, with frequent evacuations. The classrooms were located next to houses, made of bamboo and thatch, surrounded by thick walls. Under each classroom was a shelter so that even when planes bombed Highway 1, teachers and students could still teach normally. In the 1968-1969 school year, the Nghe An Department of Education sent the 10th grade Math class from Do Luong 1 High School to the school. Despite the difficult teaching conditions, always facing danger, thanks to the determination of the teachers, all 31 students in the class studied well, qualified to study abroad. After this special achievement, the Nghe An Department of Education organized for many schools to come and learn from the school's experiences. Nghe An Provincial Party Committee also organized a delegation to study the practice, then held a conference for Mr. Nguyen Huu (Party Cell Secretary) to report on his experience. The school was also honored to have Deputy Ministers of Education and Training Le Liem and Vu Thuan Nho visit twice, work and highly appreciate the quality of teaching at the school.
These first steps were also the premise for Quynh Luu 2 High School (later Quynh Luu 2 High School) to continue the tradition of good teaching and good learning. Before 1975, the school was the leading flag in moral education, not only in Nghe An but also in the whole North for many years, and was reported as a typical example in many provinces and cities. The school was also a bright spot in the "Two Good" emulation movement, in the graduation and university passing rate. Not only stopping at the task of teaching and learning, more than 250 teachers and students of the school also directly went to the battlefield to fight with guns. Among the male students who went to the battlefield that day, there were 90 beloved students of the school who remained on the battlefield, some of whom became brave soldiers to kill the Americans like Nguyen Ba Xuyen... Many brave students and soldiers of that day later became teachers of the school like Mr. Nguyen Van Hien and Mr. Phan Dinh Phu.
After the peace, the facilities, staff, and scale of schools changed rapidly. Since 1976, teachers and students, in addition to their cultural duties, have actively participated in activities to build their homeland and schools: building irrigation works to build Vuc Mau lake, digging Vach Bac canal, participating in afforestation, increasing production... building biological gardens, developing mulberry cultivation and silkworm raising...
With their dedication and passion for their profession, teachers have lit up the dreams of many generations of students. Although students lived in hardship, lacked books and documents, had not enough food and clothes, they still studied hard and strived to be good students. Many students were recognized as excellent students, among them, Truong Khanh Van won the first prize in the National Excellent Student Contest in Physics. Many students of that class later became leaders of the Party and the State, high-ranking officers in the army, leading academicians and professors, Heroes of the Armed Forces, and Heroes of Labor.
The school's 60-year journey of building and growing has also gone through difficult periods. There were years when the school did not have enough students to enroll, the school's staff had to be cut, some had to leave, some had to stay. To overcome this time, in addition to the important role of the leader, it was the spirit of solidarity, love for the profession, love for students, and humanity that helped the school maintain the title of a provincial advanced school.
Along with building the team, the school has continuously invested in building facilities. Since 2000, Quynh Luu district (old) has invested in building 12 high-rise classrooms; the grade 4 classrooms have also been renovated and invested in additional functional rooms, libraries, etc. At this time, the class size has increased significantly, from 20 classes in the 1995-1996 school year to 42 classes in the 2004-2005 school year. The above changes are a new breakthrough for the school in its development path, an important support for the school to firmly step into the 21st century. With the achievements, in 2005, the school was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the Party and the State. This is a noble award showing the recognition of the Party and the Government for the efforts of the teachers and students of the school throughout a journey full of hardships and sacrifices.
After many years of efforts, with the attention of authorities at all levels, as well as the attention of the Department of Education and Training, Quynh Luu 2 High School has a rather impressive facility with 48 high-rise classrooms, 7 practice rooms, including 1 English room, 3 IT rooms, 3 Chemistry, Physics - Technology and Biology rooms. All classrooms are equipped with smart TVs to serve teaching in the digital transformation process, contributing to improving the quality of education. The school campus is gradually planned to be spacious, clean and modern; there is a yard that meets the standards for teaching Physical Education, National Defense - Security Education and physical education and sports activities...
With the tradition of "Teaching well, learning well", in recent years, the quality of education has continued to change dramatically, the results of the following school year are always higher than the previous school year. Not only focusing on teaching knowledge, the school also promotes education on life skills, life values and career orientation. Every year, the percentage of excellent students at the provincial level always reaches 65 - 75% of the number of students taking the exam, the percentage of students graduating and passing the university entrance exam is always in the top, some students are the valedictorians and salutatorians of the university blocks of Nghe An province and are commended by the Provincial People's Committee. 100% of the school's teaching staff have qualified qualifications, of which 49/100 are above standard, 50% of teachers have achieved the title of Excellent Teacher at the provincial level and Excellent Homeroom Teacher at the provincial level. Many teachers have received Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Merit from all levels and sectors. Most of the teachers and staff are young, enthusiastic about their work, have a high sense of responsibility, and are willing to learn to improve their professional qualifications. With the achievements, the school has been recognized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province as meeting national standards since the 2014-2015 school year, and has been recognized again in 2020 and 2025. The school has also been recognized for level 2 quality accreditation.

By 2025, within 60 years, the school has enrolled 1,668 classes, trained nearly 35,000 students to graduate; thousands of students achieved the title of excellent students at the provincial level, discovered and trained students to achieve excellent students at the national level. Thousands of students passed the entrance exams to universities and colleges across the country. Among them, many students have been truly successful in their careers and have a position in society, making important contributions to the development of the country in many different fields; many are Labor Heroes, People's Doctors, Meritorious Doctors, Meritorious Teachers, People's Teachers, many were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize, many are successful businessmen. Notably, many former students of the school later became senior leaders of the Party and State such as Mr. Ho Mau Ngoat - former member of the Party Central Committee, assistant to the General Secretary; Mr. Ho Duc Phoc - member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Labor Heroes of the renovation period such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet, Mr. Dau Duc Khoi; famous scientists such as Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Nha, Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Thuan; matured in the armed forces such as Lieutenant General, People's Teacher Phan Duc Du... Above all, from this school, generations of people have been trained who are decent citizens, living responsibly towards the country and homeland.
