When "Transferring sunshine, transferring love" returns to Nghe An: Supporting poor women in Tam Quang to rebuild their houses after the storm
After storm No. 10 (storm Bualoi), Tam Quang commune was one of the places that suffered heavy damage. Many houses were damaged, roofs were blown off, and people's lives were difficult. Among them, there were stories that made anyone who heard them feel sorry - such as the situation of Ms. Mac Thi Thuy, Ms. Kha Thi Than and Ms. Quang Thi Huyen, 3 members of the local poor women's association.
Ms. Mac Thi Thuy (Dinh Huong village, Tam Quang commune) has 3 small children, the youngest is only 3 years old, the oldest is 15 years old. Her husband is a veteran, in poor health, the whole family lives on the fields growing cassava and corn. The couple borrowed more than 200 million VND from the bank to build a small house, hoping to have a place to shelter from the rain and sun. However, just one year later, storm No. 10 struck and completely destroyed the house, and all the assets they had accumulated over the years were swept away. "The debt has not been paid off yet, now there is nothing left, we can only encourage each other to start over," Ms. Thuy shared with a choked voice.

No less difficult, Ms. Kha Thi Than (Dinh Thang village, Tam Quang commune) is also a poor household in the commune. Her family has 4 members, the oldest child is in high school, the youngest is only 10 months old. Previously, the whole family lived in a low-lying area, near the stream. Every rainy season, the strong currents made staying there dangerous, so the couple borrowed more than 200 million VND to build a new house on higher ground, hoping to have a safe place to live. But when the house had been built for just over a year, a storm hit, causing the house to collapse, the roof to be blown off, and many belongings to be severely damaged.

Similarly, Ms. Quang Thi Huyen’s family (Dinh Thang village, Tam Quang commune) also does farming, growing cassava and corn all year round to make a living. The house Ms. Huyen built over a year ago has also sunk and tilted, many walls have cracked and the corrugated iron roof is severely damaged due to the impact of storm No. 10. Life, which was already difficult, has now become even more difficult.
Faced with such losses, Hai Bon Bay Joint Stock Company (247Express) has coordinated with the Women's Union of Nghe An province to support the construction and repair of houses for poor women who were heavily affected by storm No. 10. This is an activity in the series of charity programs "Delivering Sunshine, Delivering Love".

Accordingly, 3 poor women households in Tam Quang commune, including Ms. Mac Thi Thuy, Ms. Kha Thi Than and Ms. Quang Thi Huyen, were supported with 50 million VND/household, totaling 150 million VND. Although the material value is not large, it is a timely and meaningful source of encouragement, helping families have more support to rebuild their homes and stabilize their lives after natural disasters.
Before coming to Tam Quang, the program "Delivering sunshine, transferring love" implemented by Hai Bon Bay Joint Stock Company (247Express) has spread many meaningful activities in Nghe An. In February 2025, the program awarded 49 scholarships and 1 gym in Dong Hieu commune (Nghe An); built 1 charity home, 6 livelihood models and 40 gifts in Que Phong district; and 1 home, 3 livelihood models, 20 gifts and educational equipment in Ky Son district.
247Express representative shared: “Nghe An is the hometown of the company founder, so every time we return, we want to do something practical for the people. "Delivering sunshine, transferring love" not only brings material support, but also a journey of giving trust and connecting love.”
With the spirit of not only delivering goods but also delivering love, 247Express is spreading profound human values to places in need. In Tam Quang today, roofs are gradually being rebuilt - not only with bricks and cement, but with humanity, sharing and belief that tomorrow the sun will warm this countryside again.
