Prosecuted two young men who threw paint and shrimp paste to demand 200 million 'help'
Two people in Da Nang who used shrimp paste and paint to splash on people's houses to collect a debt of 200 million VND have just been prosecuted.
On September 17, Hai Chau District Police (Da Nang City) announced that they had just prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Thanh Viet (born in 1991, residing in Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District) and banned Ha Duc Phu (born in 1994, residing in Thanh Khe District) from leaving their place of residence for the crime of "intentionally damaging property".
According to the investigation, in 2007, Mr. NMDL (40 years old, residing in Hoa Cuong Bac ward, Hai Chau district) borrowed 200 million VND from Mr. TVT (63 years old, residing in Khue Trung ward, Cam Le district).

However, up to now, Mr. L. has not paid Mr. T. After 15 years of unsuccessful debt collection, in May 2022, Mr. T. brought Viet to Mr. L.'s house to collect the debt but could not meet him.
Frustrated, in the early morning of May 28, after drinking, Viet bought 20,000 VND worth of shrimp paste mixed with water and splashed it on Mr. L's house.
Then, late at night on May 30, Viet invited Phu to Mr. L's house to throw dirty substances to collect the debt. Both of them looked for shrimp paste but couldn't find any.
When they arrived at the intersection of Tran Huu Trang - Nguyen Cu Trinh (Hai Chau district), they both discovered an old paint can still placed next to the trash can, so they mixed it with water and poured it in front of Mr. L's house before leaving.
According to Hai Chau District Police, Viet has many criminal records but continues to reoffend. The damage assessment results from the two times Mr. L.'s house was "terrorized" amounted to nearly 22 million VND.
