A moment later, Mr. Nguyen Manh L. (born in 1991) drove his car from the parking area in front of the market gate to the street and got stuck in Phuong's motorbike, making it impossible to move. Mr. L. told Phuong to move his motorbike away so the car wouldn't collide with him, but Phuong didn't cooperate. The two argued, and Mr. L. then drove his car and it hit the motorbike.
Angry, the male driver got out of the car, took an umbrella and went to Phuong to beat him. According to verification, after being attacked, Phuong ran into a nearby restaurant, grabbed a knife about 40 cm long and returned to chase and slash Mr. L once on the back of the hand.
After being attacked, Mr. L. fled to a nearby residential area and then went to the hospital for emergency treatment. After committing the crime, Phuong left the scene. His motorbike was later taken away by his friend.
Vinh City Police investigated, collected evidence, and extracted data from security cameras along the city's streets to search for clues.
By professional measures, on December 6, Nguyen Dinh Phuong was identified as the perpetrator. When he returned from the South and was present in Vinh city, the police arrested him.
Working with the police, Phuong admitted to his crime and said that after committing the crime, he left the area and wandered around many southern provinces to make a living before returning to visit his girlfriend and being arrested. Before committing the crime, the defendant Phuong was a freelance worker and had no criminal record.
