Pickup truck driver prosecuted for reversing and running over cyclist

Initially, according to driver Son's testimony, on the afternoon of April 30, Son drove a gray pickup truck into the opposite lane on Quang Trung Street to block a red 4-seater car driven by Ms. M.
Ms. M is Son's wife. Before this incident, Son and his wife had a conflict and quarrel.
When the two cars were facing each other, Son got out of the car and went to the 4-seater car to argue with his wife, then returned to his car and suddenly reversed.
The pickup truck Son was driving in reverse at high speed for about 30 meters when it hit Ms. Nguyen Thi L. (60 years old, residing in Quang Trung ward, Vinh city) who was riding a bicycle.
After causing the accident, Son got out of the car with some other road users to take Ms. L. to the emergency room, but the victim passed away at the hospital.

It is known that at the time of the incident, Ms. L. was crossing the street from Quang Trung market when she was hit by Son's pickup truck.
The incident was recorded in a clip of more than 1 minute long that went viral on social media on the evening of April 30, attracting public attention. Most people condemned the behavior and asked the authorities to strictly handle the pickup truck driver's behavior that caused the accident.
Son said the pickup truck that caused the accident was borrowed from someone else.
Previously, Ms. M. - Son's wife was also invited to the investigation agency to work related to the traffic accident on Quang Trung Street, Vinh City on the afternoon of April 30.
