Police arrest thief while checking motel
(Baonghean.vn) - Seeing a young man without identification papers in a motel, Nam Dan District Police investigated and discovered that he was a thief who specialized in stealing people's property.
On July 17, Nam Dan District Police conducted an administrative inspection at MD motel in Nam Giang commune and discovered Nguyen The Tien (born in 1994, residing in Thanh Thinh commune, Thanh Chuong district) was renting a place to stay but had no identification papers.
During the investigation, Tien could not prove the origin of the two phones and motorbike. Suspecting that the incident had signs of crime, the police made a record and took the subject and the above assets to the police station for clarification.

Police later determined that the Yamaha Sirius motorbike with license plate 37B2 – 19173 was stolen by Nguyen The Tien. Initially, Tien gave a evasive statement, trying to deny the crime, but when faced with the evidence, Tien admitted to stealing the motorbike.
Tien confessed that on the evening of July 13, when passing by the house of Ms. Nguyen Thi L. (Hamlet 12, Nghi Kim Commune, Vinh City), he broke into the house and took away a motorbike, a cell phone, a wristwatch, and a black leather wallet containing 200,000 VND.
On July 17, Tien broke into the house of Ms. Nguyen Thi Th. (Van Trung block, Hung Dung ward, Vinh city) and stole a phone. Previously, on July 14, Tien also stole a motorbike from a resident in Hung Dong commune, Vinh city, but because he lost gambling, he mortgaged it for 10 million VND.
In addition, Nguyen The Tien also confessed that he had committed two phone thefts in Vinh city.
The Investigation Police Agency of Nam Dan District has transferred the case file and the suspect Nguyen The Tien to the Investigation Police Agency of Vinh City for further investigation according to their authority. It is known that Nguyen The Tien has 3 previous convictions for property theft and has just been released from prison for nearly 2 months.
