On the afternoon of July 27, Mr. Le Truong Son - Deputy Head of the Vinh City Department of Education and Training said that the unit is coordinating with the Vinh City Department of Health to inspect the hygiene and food safety at Viet Sing Garden Hills Kindergarten. This move took place after many images considered "unhygienic" appeared on social networks related to this private school.
Accordingly, the image shared on Facebook shows school staff washing children's food trays in the toilet. The trays are placed right on the toilet. In addition, there is an image of a source of black water flowing....
These images have angered parents, especially those whose children are studying at this school. Many parents have expressed concern about the black tap water being used to wash their children.
Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper reporters, Mr. Pham Anh Duc - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Viet Sing International Education Development Joint Stock Company said that these images were taken at Viet Sing Garden Hills Kindergarten (address at Nguyen Trai Street, Quan Bau Ward, Vinh City), one of the schools under the company.
“Regarding the image of the black water, it was after a long break due to the Covid-19 epidemic, so the water in the tank was stagnant, and when the faucet was turned on, that phenomenon occurred. This school does not have a kitchen system, so water is only used for washing. But I admit that the school has that problem, I request that we learn from experience, seriously consider it and immediately stop that problem,” said Mr. Duc.
Regarding the photo of the girls washing trays in the restroom, Mr. Duc said that the girls currently cannot remember when the photo was taken. “However, according to the process, each individual working like that is not correct, washing trays in that situation is wrong. The school has learned from that problem and will not let it happen again,” Mr. Duc said.
Mr. Pham Anh Duc said that the images and information on social networks were "a little bit fabricated", originating from a teacher who used to work at the school and then quit and had a grudge against the management department.
“Regardless, as leaders, we admit that it was wrong to let that happen and to make parents worry like that. In addition, letting employees rest in an uncomfortable position is also wrong. Our point of view is to look straight at the truth and make corrections,” Mr. Duc added.
According to the reporter's investigation, the Viet Sing kindergarten system in Vinh City currently has 4 schools. Of which, Viet Sing Garden Hills Kindergarten has 8 classes, with nearly 200 children studying but does not have a kitchen for cooking.
Previously, on November 23, 2022, Viet Sing Garden Hills Kindergarten was administratively fined VND 90 million by the People's Committee of Nghe An province for putting the project into operation without a certificate or document approving the fire prevention and fighting design.
In addition, during the food safety monitoring process at schools in Nghe An province in 2022, Nghe An Food Safety and Hygiene Department discovered that Viet Sing Sunrise Kindergarten (located on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street, Vinh City) did not comply with the regulations on the 3-step food inspection regime.
