(Baonghean) -This morning, December 9, the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to his hometown and the inauguration of the restoration and embellishment of Uncle Ho's memorial site in Vinh Thanh commune (Yen Thanh - Nghe An) was solemnly held.

Attending the ceremony were leaders of provincial departments and branches, along with a large number of people and students.

Exactly 50 years ago, on December 10, 1961, during the second visit to his hometown, the Party Committee and people of Vinh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district were honored to welcome Uncle Ho to visit. As a typical locality of the province in the movement of planting trees, irrigation, building a new lifestyle..., Vinh Thanh was praised by Uncle Ho for its achievements in the movement of building cooperatives. He encouraged and advised the cadres, party members and people of Vinh Thanh and Yen Thanh to promote more in all fields to build a prosperous and happy life for everyone.

The speech presented by comrade Phan Van Tan - Secretary of Yen Thanh District Party Committee at the ceremony stated: Following the advice of beloved Uncle Ho, over the past 50 years, the cadres and people of Vinh Thanh commune in particular and Yen Thanh district in general have strived to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully completing political tasks in each historical period. Vinh Thanh commune and Yen Thanh district were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. Yen Thanh has 68 schools meeting national standards, 35 communes meeting national standards in health care. The movement to build cooperative models in Yen Thanh has achieved many results. People's lives have been increasingly improved, with average income per capita reaching 13.95 million VND/year. The tree planting movement "forever grateful to Uncle Ho" has truly entered the subconscious of the people, every year Yen Thanh plants over 1,200 hectares of concentrated forests and 1 million scattered trees...

Thoroughly grasping Uncle Ho's teachings and promoting the traditions of their homeland, the people of all walks of life in Yen Thanh district continue to promote the "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh", determined to overcome all difficulties, build their homeland Yen Thanh more and more prosperous, contributing to making their province a prosperous province as Uncle Ho always wished.

Also on this occasion, the project to renovate and embellish the memorial site of Uncle Ho's visit to Vinh Thanh commune, including 10 items with a total cost of 9.5 billion VND, was inaugurated. This is a cultural and historical project of great importance, a place to commemorate Uncle Ho and a place to educate revolutionary traditions for generations of people in and outside Yen Thanh district.
