Vinh Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh) receives the title of Advanced New Rural Commune

On behalf of the Party Committee and the commune government, comrade Nguyen Thanh Hung - Chairman of Vinh Thanh Commune People's Committee reported on the results achieved in 6 years of local solidarity, joint efforts and consensus in building advanced new rural areas.

Vinh Thanh is a low-lying rural area with 2,011 households, the main occupation is mainly agricultural production combined with small-scale trading, handicrafts, trade and services that are on the rise. The locality has a stable cultural, economic - social, national defense - security tradition, and the people are united and hard-working. Vinh Thanh was honored to be visited by Uncle Ho in 1961.

Implementing the political determination to build Vinh Thanh commune to meet advanced new rural standards, with the solidarity, efforts and determination of the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, sectors and unions, and especially with the joint efforts of all classes of people, the rural appearance of the commune is increasingly prosperous.

The locality has mobilized maximum resources, sought support from superiors, contributions from the people, support from businesses, and philanthropists to invest in building and completing infrastructure. Invested in upgrading cultural houses in 12/12 hamlet units. Schools at all levels have been invested in construction to ensure facilities for teaching and learning.

The agricultural cooperative has developed strongly and is annually rated as quite good... In the commune, there are products such as "Vinh Hoa herbal rice, Vinh Hoa herbal rice tea, Vinh Hoa herbal nutritional powder" that have achieved 3-star OCOP status.

The report shows that in 2023, the economic growth rate will reach 9.48%. The economic structure will shift in the right direction: agriculture - forestry - fishery accounts for 35.09%; industry - basic construction accounts for 35.41%; services account for 29.49%. The average income per capita is estimated at 55,572 million VND/year. The poverty rate at the end of 2023 will be 1.1%.

Social culture has many improvements, national defense and security have been consolidated and enhanced, social order and safety have been maintained, and social security has received due attention. All aspects of social life have made new progress, the infrastructure system and people's lives have been improved. Party building and political system building have been given attention and maintained. By the end of 2023, Vinh Thanh commune has achieved 19/19 advanced new rural criteria.

With the achieved results, the Provincial People's Committee recognized Vinh Thanh as meeting the standards of an advanced new rural commune in 2023. Vinh Thanh maintains and continuously improves the quality of the criteria, striving for the commune to meet the standards of a model new rural commune in 2028.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Phung Thanh Vinh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that achieving the advanced new rural standards is an honor and pride but also a great responsibility of the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Thanh commune. To continue promoting the tradition and achievements towards building the commune to the finish line of a model new rural commune, Comrade Phung Thanh Vinh suggested that Vinh Thanh commune continue to deploy and perform well a number of tasks:

Improve the quality and promote the role of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in building new rural areas; with the highest political determination, to build, maintain and improve the quality of the achieved criteria.

Mobilizing and integrating resources in new rural construction to create strong and synchronous resources to build and improve criteria, in which people's resources play a decisive role, promoting local strengths, building Vinh Thanh commune, the homeland, increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.

Continue to effectively restructure the agricultural sector and develop the rural economy; Bring local key products into the province's One Commune One Product Program to increase added value, in line with the digital transformation process, adapt to climate change; improve the quality of vocational training for rural workers... contributing to increasing people's income in a sustainable manner.
