(Baonghean.vn) - Ky Son district has a plan to requisition the offices of the Commune People's Committee, schools and Border Guard Stations as evacuation sites for people when natural disasters and floods occur.

Every year in Ky Son district, natural disasters and floods often occur, causing much damage to people and property, especially in Muong Ai and Muong Tip communes.
Therefore, before this year's flood season, Ky Son district has inspected the plan to relocate households in villages at risk of landslides in the following villages: Xong Phong, Xop Lau (Muong Ai); Vang Phao, Na My, Ta Do (Muong Tip); inspected the deterioration of inter-commune roads from Muong Tip to Na Ngoi commune; landslides caused by flash floods in Nha Nang village and Pung village in Muong Ai commune.

To minimize damage caused by floods and landslides, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district - Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoang noted that communes need to do a good job of forecasting to villages, organizing the installation of warning signs at places at risk of landslides, and making plans to requisition offices, schools, and border posts as temporary shelters and evacuation places for people when natural disasters occur. Along with that, it is necessary to prepare food and provisions to promptly support people in isolated areas.
