S0S Vinh Children's Village welcomes two orphans from Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 6, the leadership of SOS Children's Village Vinh organized a reception for two orphans to be raised and cared for in the village.
The two children are Phan Cong Phat, 13 years old, and Phan Cong Loi, 8 years old, from Phan Dang Luu hamlet, Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. Phat and Loi are in very pitiful circumstances. Their father, Phan Cong Dai, died suddenly in September 2013, and before that, their mother, Vu Thi Thuy, died in the Len Co quarry collapse. Their grandfather also passed away more than a year ago, and their grandmother, Vu Thi Bien, is over 80 years old and often sick, and does not have the means to take good care of the two children.
Receiving the petition from the Nam Thanh commune government as well as the petition from the children's grandmother, the leaders of SOS Children's Village Vinh directly investigated and decided to accept both brothers Phan Cong Phat and Phan Cong Loi even though according to regulations, the children were too old to be accepted for care and upbringing at the Village.
