On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Defensive CampaignPlain of Jars- Xieng Khouang (May 21, 1972 - May 21, 2022), on the morning of May 19, the delegation of the Steering Committee of the Scientific Workshop "50 years of the Defense CampaignPlain of Jars– Xieng Khouang – Victory and lessons learned” visited and presented gifts to some disadvantaged policy families in Vinh city, witnesses of the Plain of Jars defense campaign – Xieng Khouang, Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The delegation was led by Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
The delegation included: Major General Le Tat Thang - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4; Major General Tran Minh Thanh - Political Commissar of Military Region 4; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Pham Van Dong - Political Commissar of Nghe An Provincial Military Command; Tran Quang Lam - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee; and representatives of the Military History Institute.

The delegation of the Steering Committee of the Scientific Conference visited and presented gifts to 5 disadvantaged policy families in Vinh city.
That is: The family of war invalid 4/4 Nguyen Van Duc (born in 1945; living in hamlet 2, Hung Chinh commune, Vinh city). War invalid Nguyen Van Duc himself was infected with Agent Orange, has poor health, and is often sick and has to go to the hospital for treatment.
Family of War invalid 4/4 Nguyen Thi Phuong (born in 1950; living in block 11, Cua Nam ward, Vinh city). War invalid Nguyen Thi Phuong is in poor health, currently suffering from grade 3 tricuspid valve regurgitation and cervical atherosclerosis. She has given birth to a daughter (who has a mental illness). The family's income mainly depends on monthly allowances, making life difficult.

Family of 1/4 disabled soldier Thai Doan Nam (born in 1946; living in block 3, Trung Do ward, Vinh city). Disabled soldier Thai Doan Nam is currently in poor health, his wife suffers from depression. The family's income mainly depends on pension. Both husband and wife currently live together with their children.
Family of War invalid 4/4 Nguyen Dao Man (born in 1946; in Xuan Tin hamlet, Nghi Duc commune, Vinh city). War invalid Nguyen Dao Man's wife has been paralyzed for 23 years and needs constant care. The family's economic life is facing many difficulties.

War invalid Nguyen Van Duyet is currently in very poor health, suffering from heart failure, chronic pneumonia, high blood pressure, and often has to go to the hospital for treatment. The family's economic life is full of difficulties.
Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet and his fellow delegates kindly inquired about the health and family life of the wounded soldiers. The delegation of the Workshop Steering Committee and leaders of Military Region 4, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Military Command and Vinh City presented gifts to encourage the 5 families mentioned above.
