Provincial leaders congratulate Vinh Diocese on Patron Saint's Day
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the Patron Saint's Feast of Vinh Diocese, on the morning of August 14, a working delegation of the province led by comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee came to present flowers and congratulate the Vinh Diocese Bishop's House.
Also attending were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial People's Committee Office, the Religious Affairs Committee (Department of Home Affairs), the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and the Provincial Police.
Welcoming the delegation was Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long - Bishop of Vinh Diocese.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa sent best wishes to the Bishop of the diocese, auxiliary bishops, priests, dignitaries, officials and parishioners of Vinh Diocese on the occasion of the solemn feast day.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa also informed the Bishop about the socio-economic development situation of the province in the first 6 months of the year. Notably, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate increased by 7.09%, the total state budget revenue reached 53.2% compared to the estimate, up 17.6% over the same period in 2018. Foreign affairs and investment promotion activities had many outstanding results, the education sector achieved many remarkable results (Nghe An continued to be ranked in the top 3 units nationwide in terms of excellent students at the national, international and regional levels); national defense and security were maintained, social security was ensured.
Regarding religious affairs, the Party Committees, authorities at all levels and functional branches of the province continue to pay attention to implementing well the policies and laws on beliefs and religions. Special attention is paid to promptly resolving legitimate and legal religious needs.

That result was achieved thanks to the important contributions of Catholics and dignitaries of Vinh Diocese, headed by the Bishop.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa acknowledged and thanked the Bishop, priests and all Catholics in the province for accompanying the authorities at all levels in the past time. At the same time, he expressed his hope that the Bishop, assistant bishops and priests would continue to guide and encourage Catholics in Nghe An province to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws in the spirit of living a "good life, good religion" and "a good Catholic is also a good citizen"; responding to and actively participating in emulation movements for national peace and local campaigns... contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, joining hands to build the homeland and the country.
