Provincial leaders inspect wood chip processing facilities in Quy Hop and Nghia Dan districts.
On February 26, Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation inspected the operation of wood chip processing factories and facilities in Quy Hop and Nghia Dan districts.
Accompanying him were comrade Nguyen Danh Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; representatives of the Forestry Department and related units.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De and members inspected the field at wood chip processing facilities in Quy Hop district.
According to the report of the People's Committee of Quy Hop district, the district currently has 4 establishments processing wood chips in Yen Hop, Dong Hop, Chau Quang, Chau Thai communes. During operation, some establishments lacked procedural documents, violated environmental protection, declared and paid industrial wastewater fees...

In 2024, the People's Committee of Quy Hop district held a meeting to review, evaluate and listen to reports on the results of overcoming shortcomings and limitations of owners of establishments engaged in wood processing and chipping activities in the area. The district requested the establishments to overcome shortcomings and complete the procedures in accordance with the provisions of law.
At the meeting, Quy Hop district hoped to create favorable conditions in terms of policies and mechanisms to support wood chip processing facilities in the district to complete their procedures, helping businesses operate stably. From there, the consumption of wood materials from local people's planted forests will be convenient.

Next, the delegation visited a large timber forest in Dong Hop commune, Quy Hop district, managed by Song Hieu Agricultural Forestry Company Limited.
Up to now, Song Hieu Agricultural Forestry Company Limited has 1,172.0 hectares of large timber forest with FSC certification, achieving an average yield of 180-270 tons/ha.
The company has invested in building 5 new acacia nurseries at 5 forestry farms with a total cost of nearly 2.5 billion VND. The nurseries have modern auxiliary systems including a canopy system, electricity and water system, automatic misting system, and drainage ditch system to ensure that the nurseries meet the prescribed standards.

Song Hieu Agricultural Forestry Company Limited hopes that all levels and sectors will do a good job in land use planning so that the Company can determine its short-term, medium-term and long-term business goals and strategies. There should be policies to support and encourage businesses to invest and apply advanced science and technology in forestry seed production.
In the afternoon of the same day, the working group inspected May Forestry Joint Stock Company and several other wood processing facilities in Nghia Dan district.

Through the actual inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested that Quy Hop and Nghia Dan districts as well as related sectors coordinate to remove obstacles and difficulties for wood chip processing units to promptly complete investment procedures according to the provisions of law. Localities need to actively plant large timber forests, meeting the demand for quality wood materials to produce laminated wood for export, increasing the economic value of forests.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested that owners of slow-progressing wood processing projects speed up construction progress, put factories into operation soon, purchase acacia raw materials, and avoid people being forced to lower prices.
