Leaders of Nghe An province received leaders of Champasak province (Lao PDR)
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 25, leaders of Nghe An province had a courtesy reception for the working delegation of Champasak province (Lao PDR) led by Comrade Vilayvong Butdakham - Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Provincial Governor.
Receiving and working with the delegation, on the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Phan Dai Nghia - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Provincial People's Committee Office, departments and branches.
Also attending the reception was Mr. Nguyen Van Trung - Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Pakse, Lao PDR.

At the reception, Comrade Vilayvong Butdakham - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Champasak Province was delighted to visit Nghe An Province for the first time, at a special time when the two countries are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty. He thanked Nghe An Province for the warm, thoughtful, and comradely reception for the Champasak Province delegation.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Champa Sac informed the leaders of Nghe An province about the natural conditions, population and socio-economic situation in the first 8 months of 2022, emphasizing that although Champa Sac and Nghe An provinces do not have a common border, through this visit, he hoped that the two sides would open up a cooperative relationship in the coming time.

In the coming time, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Champasak Province wishes to cooperate comprehensively with Nghe An Province; encourage and increase the exchange of trade and tourism goods between the two localities; and strengthen the education of the younger generation about the special solidarity and friendship between the two countries, which has been cultivated by the two countries' leaders over the past time.
Speaking at the reception, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of Champa Sac province to visit and work in Nghe An province.

Nghe An is the province with the longest common border with Laos (over 468 km); adjacent to the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Hua Phan and Bolikhamxay. The terrain, history and culture of the border area between Nghe An and the localities of Laos have many similarities. The people here live in harmony and closeness; there are long-standing neighborly and kinship relationships, so there are frequent economic and cultural exchanges in many diverse forms.
The friendly and cooperative relations between Nghe An and Lao localities have always been maintained and developed. Up to now, in addition to traditional cooperation with 3 provinces sharing the border, Nghe An has also expanded its cooperative relations with 4 provinces: Vientiane, Khammouane, Savannakhet and Xay Som Bun in many fields such as: trade, education - training, health, defense - security.

In particular, last August, Nghe An province successfully organized the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty with the participation of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam and leaders of 7 provinces with traditional friendship relations. In addition, Nghe An was honored to welcome many high-ranking delegations of Lao and Vietnamese leaders within the framework of activities of the Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam Solidarity Year...
Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu emphasized that the coordination and cooperation activities of Nghe An province and Lao provinces not only promote socio-economic development, maintain national defense, security, order and social safety of the border provinces but also contribute to consolidating and tightening the special solidarity and friendship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu respectfully expressed his deep gratitude to the Lao Party, State and People for their good feelings and attention to Nghe An in the past time.
