Vac Village Festival - cultural highlight of western Nghe An
(Baonghean) -Every spring, Thai Hoa Town organizes the Vac Village Festival for local people and tourists from all over to come and offer incense to commemorate the merits of the ancestors who founded the village in the early days, giving birth to the land of Phu Qui.
This year, the Vac Village Festival was held for 3 days (March 11 to 13). Thousands of people from ethnic groups in the area and neighboring areas came to participate in the festival.

During the ceremony, there is a procession of the Bronze Cauldron. The procession is bustling, drums and flags are flying, people of different ethnic groups wear their traditional costumes made of brocade with colorful patterns. Tho, Thai, Thanh girls dress up in colorful costumes, Kinh girls in flowing ao dai participate in the Bronze Cauldron Procession, this is a unique feature of the Vac village festival. After the procession, the ceremony at the temple is solemnly and respectfully held according to traditional rituals performed by the village elders, praying for favorable weather, good crops, prosperity, happiness and development for the people.

The festival was bustling and bustling. After three drum beats by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Hoa town, Le Phuc An, folk games such as stick pushing, tug of war, cockfighting, martial arts, chess, board games, wrestling, etc. were opened bustlingly with the participation of many people from all walks of life. Special competitions such as: gong competition, Vac village beauty contest, tug of war, stick pushing for men and women, martial arts competition, wrestling, volleyball for men and women, camping, etc. Then everyone had fun together with a jar of rice wine.

Vac Village Festival also has a mass art performance with unique self-directed performances by villages and communes such as gong dance, carving, traditional and modern dance and singing performances praising the homeland and country, clearly showing the unique cultural identity of Phu Quy, a young and dynamic urban area in the West that is changing and growing.
After more than 10 years of restoration and organization, the Vac Village Festival has become more and more diverse, attracting more and more tourists, meeting the cultural and spiritual needs of the people in the region and becoming a gathering place for ethnic communities. This year, in particular, the temple area has been built spaciously, with an additional area to display ancient artifacts of Vac Village. Many people in the region have voluntarily brought their collected artifacts to display at the temple.
