Euro 2016 schedule and squad - Albania team
Update the latest information on the schedule, players, coaches and Albania team lineup at Euro 2016
Table A
Albania
Participating in EURO 2016 is Albania's biggest achievement and they will try their best to leave an impression on the fans.
Eligibility
Second place in Group I
Albania beat both Portugal and Serbia to qualify for their first ever European Championship. While these victories were a fluke, Giovanni De Biasi’s side deserved to be in France in June after their relentless efforts in qualifying.
Probability of success
They have a very low chance of getting out of the group stage with a rate of 34.8%. Albania is considered a weak candidate, of course their chance of winning the EURO is also very low, only 0.4%.
Expected lineup
- Goalkeeper:Etrit Berisha;
- Defender:Elseid Hysaj, Lila, Lorik Cana, Ansi Agolli;
- Midfielder:Shkelzen Gashi, Taulant Xhaka, Burim Kukeli, Amir Abrashi, Ermir Lenjani;
- Forward:Sokol Cikalleshi.
Key player
Lorik Cana
The centre-back is considered the best player in the country and a symbol of Albania. He is also the captain with top form and a wealth of experience.
Coach
Gianni Di Biasi
The Italian coach was appointed in 2011 and led Albania to a good run in World Cup qualifying. The victory over Portugal was a testament to the team’s progress. De Biasi has a talent for winning people over and has great confidence in his players.
