All-female class in Luong land with "unprecedented" feat in High School Graduation Exam
In this year’s exam, class 12D1, Do Luong 3 High School made a mark when 3 students were included in the list of students with high scores and were honored throughout the province, including 1 valedictorian. This is also a special class as all members of the class are female and 30/39 students achieved scores of 50 points or higher.
Sweet fruit crystallized from determination
10 km is the distance from My Son commune to Do Luong 3 High School. This is also the familiar route of Dang Thi My Hanh - a student of class 12D1, top 7 candidates with the highest graduation exam scores in the province in the Social Sciences group, going back and forth every day for 3 years of high school.
Hanh’s family situation is still difficult. Over the years, her father’s salary as a worker and her mother’s meager income from the fields have made it difficult for Hanh and her four siblings to get a good education. Before Hanh, her older sister finished university but had to temporarily put aside her dream of finding a suitable job and chose to work abroad to help support the family.

Growing up in difficult circumstances, from the first days of 10th grade, Hanh determined that studying was her main task. Therefore, even though there were days when she had to travel dozens of kilometers back and forth, whether it was hot or cold, Hanh still diligently went to school, never missing a single day. During her 3 years of high school, Hanh's academic achievements were always among the students with the highest scores in the class.
With excellent academic results, when hearing that this female student was in the top 7 students with the highest graduation exam scores in the Social Science group in the province and was on the expected list to be commended, teachers and friends were not surprised.
When receiving this result, Hanh was really happy because after much effort and hard work, she received the result she deserved.
I never thought that I would be a candidate in the list of commendations because I believe that there are many friends who are better than me and work harder than me. I always tell myself to try to study hard so that my parents and family do not have to worry.
Moreover, this is also the only way for students growing up in poor rural areas like me to escape poverty…
I am Dang Thi My Hanh.

Along with Hanh, with 56.4 points, Nguyen Thi Ha - class 12D1 also entered the top 10 candidates with the highest graduation exam scores in the Social Science group in the province. Notably, with a score of 9.5 in Literature, 10 in History, 10 in Geography, Ha was also the runner-up in block C nationwide.
The female student from Tan Son commune, Do Luong district said that she was very surprised with 2 scores of 10 in History and Geography and became the national runner-up: My university entrance exam subject is group D, so History and Geography are not subjects that I spend too much time on. My secret is just to grasp the knowledge in a focused way. From there, when doing the test, if I read the questions carefully and use the elimination method, the probability of accuracy will be very high."
With outstanding test scores, plus an IELTS certificate of 7.0, Nguyen Thi Ha passed her first choice to study Logistics at the National Economics University.
Previously, despite her difficult circumstances (her parents were factory workers), Ha's efforts to study and take the IELTS exam were admired by many of her friends. It is known that this determined female student only registered for an online course to review for the exam, and for the rest, she practiced listening by watching movies, reading stories, listening to podcasts, and creating an English environment for herself by asking and answering questions every day to practice speaking skills.
Because we are a female group
The 2024 high school graduation exam has just ended with many achievements of class 12D1 - Do Luong 3 High School, when for the first time the school had a class with 3 students in the top 10 list of students with the highest high school graduation exam scores in the Social Science group in the province, in which the valedictorian of the province was Nguyen Thi Hoai Linh.
The remaining list is also proud when the whole class has 30/39 students achieving scores of 50 points or higher in 6 subjects, 7 students above 55 points, the average score of the class is above 8 points. In the whole province, this is also a special class because all 39 members in the class are female.

On the day of receiving the graduation exam results, along with the students, the homeroom teacher Nguyen Quoc Son was probably the happiest person. On the morning of the exam results announcement, he also sat down for a session to review the words that the students had sent him during the last class...
"Dear teacher! During the 3-year journey with you at Do Luong 3 High School, I silently thank you for always being dedicated in every lesson. We will always remember the moment we first met you, the moment we accompanied you in the stressful exams. We also remember the times of copying and the "not-so-light" scoldings from you.
Hoai Linh - valedictorian of the province
“I will never forget the day you made me stand in the corner of the classroom for falling asleep. Or the time you called to wake me up for the exam"…
Nguyen Ha - female student with 2 scores of 10, top 10 candidates with high scores in Social Sciences, runner-up in block C nationwide

Before being assigned to be the homeroom teacher of class 12D1, teacher Nguyen Quoc Son had been teaching for nearly 20 years. The difference is that before, Mr. Son was mainly assigned to be the homeroom teacher of weak classes, classes with many problem students; meanwhile, class 12D1 was the class with the top entrance scores of the school.
Teacher Nguyen Quoc Son recalls: "The first time I was assigned to be the head teacher of a gifted class, I felt a lot of pressure because I had to take responsibility before the class and the school. Moreover, the class only had female students, so accompanying them would have more specific difficulties. The girls were more obedient and more conscious, but each of them had a different personality, making it difficult to share."

Due to the unique characteristics of the class, teacher Nguyen Quoc Son accompanied the class in a "both firm and gentle" way, strict and disciplined but also encouraging, sharing and confiding. Therefore, the students in the class truly considered the teacher as their friend, willing to confide and express their sincere thoughts to ask for his advice and support.
Along with studying, with the personality of a young teacher (born in 1984), Mr. Son and his class participated in many school movements. Sports competitions, art performances, interesting group activities... contributed to building a united and cohesive class.
At the end of 3 years of high school, class 12D1 was one of 3 classes that were continuously awarded by the school as an excellent class. The class won first prize in the art performance 3 times, and won the school's volleyball championship cup 2 times. In grade 12, 10/11 members of the class participated in the Provincial Excellent Student Competition and won prizes, including 8 second prizes and 2 third prizes.
After the High School Graduation Exam, with outstanding results, all 39 female members of class 12D1, Do Luong High School are waiting to receive good news from universities.
As a homeroom teacher, I am proud of the class and I clearly feel the efforts of the students, until the last days of the school year. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, the teachers of the subjects who have accompanied us and thank you, the parents who have always been with the class and the students so that we can reach the finish line successfully.
Saying goodbye to class 12D1 - a united, close-knit and studious group, teacher Nguyen Quoc Son had many messages for his students.
