Vinh City is home to many businesses that have ceased operations and have large tax debts. A prime example is Nghe An Bridge and Road Construction Joint Stock Company, located at Alley No. 2, Ngo Gia Tu Street, Quan Bau Ward, Vinh City, specializing in construction. As of now, this company still owes nearly 20 billion VND in taxes. The tax authorities are requesting the Department of Planning and Investment to revoke the company's business registration license and force its dissolution.

In addition, many other entities owe large amounts of taxes, such as: Phuoc Vinh Freight Transport and Construction Company owing over 7.3 billion VND; Viet Ha Construction Company Limited owing 6.3 billion VND; Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company 24 owing over 17 billion VND; Central Region Construction and Consulting Joint Stock Company owing over 17 billion VND…

Ms. Thuy Anh, Head of the Declaration and Accounting Department of the Nghe An Tax Department, stated: Businesses are carrying out dissolution procedures incorrectly, not in accordance with the Enterprise Law and the Tax Management Law, submitting dissolution documents to the business registration agency before fulfilling their tax obligations. The reason for tax arrears is that these businesses are small-scale, their products are not competitive enough in the market, leading to losses. Furthermore, the current procedures for registering a company or business are quite easy, while the awareness of tax law compliance among some businesses is still low.

A representative from the Nghe An Tax Department stated: For businesses that have voluntarily dissolved or ceased operations, the tax authorities will continue to review their cases. After classification, the tax authorities will take decisive measures to collect outstanding taxes.
