Nghe An: 36 prisoners had their sentences reduced and were released early.
(Baonghean.vn) - Of the 36 prisoners whose sentences were reduced or released early, 32 are serving their sentences at detention facilities in Nghe An province and 4 are serving their sentences at Prison No. 3 and Prison No. 6 of the Ministry of Public Security.

After a careful working process, public and democratic consideration based on the proposal of the representative of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province, the Council decided to release 4 prisoners serving their sentences at Prison No. 3 and Prison No. 6, Ministry of Public Security. There were 2 prisoners proposed by these 2 detention facilities who were not accepted for early release due to the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
The Council accepted the 32 prisoners whose sentences were proposed for reduction this time by the Criminal Enforcement Agency of Nghe An Province Police. These prisoners have made progress in their rehabilitation process, have complied well with the regulations of the detention camp and temporary detention house; have actively studied and done reform work, and have all been classified as good or better in serving their prison sentences and fully met the conditions and criteria for consideration of reducing their prison terms according to the provisions of law.

Of these, the person whose sentence was reduced the most was 6 months in prison, the person whose sentence was reduced the least was 6 days in prison; 07 prisoners had their entire prison term reduced and were released to return to their families and society.
The reduction of prison terms for prisoners on the occasion of National Day demonstrates the humane and lenient policy of our Party and State; at the same time, it encourages and motivates prisoners who are serving their sentences to actively compete for good reform so that they can soon return to their families, reintegrate into the community and become good people, useful to society.
