Nghe An: Warm Mid-Autumn Festival for children in flood-hit areas
(Baonghean.vn) - Sharing the difficulties with students in flood-hit areas, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province called for and presented 1,000 warm coats, 2 sets of computers to 2 teams, 30 scholarships worth 10 million VND to students in 2 communes of Muong Ai, Muong Tip, Ky Son district.
From September 22 to 24, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, Tien Phong Newspaper, and Nghe An Border Guard Command coordinated to organize the program "Mid-Autumn Festival in Flooded Areas - Sharing Love" for students in the difficult flood-affected areas of Chom Lom (Con Cuong), border communes of Na Ngoi, Muong Ai, Muong Tip (Ky Son), and Yen Tinh commune (Tuong Duong).

On September 22, in Chom Lom, Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong district, the delegation presented 300 new uniforms; 300 moon cakes, 300 school bags, 1,500 notebooks, 165 boxes of instant noodles and many other meaningful gifts.
During the recent flood, a pier of Chom Lom bridge was washed away, isolating 500 households. 165 ethnic minority students in three villages of Chom Lom, Yen Hoa, and Dong Tien had to stay at local people's houses to go to school.
On the same evening, the Delegation organized the program "Mid-Autumn Festival on the Border - Sharing Love" for students in the border commune of Na Ngoi, Ky Son district, at the Youth Volunteer Team 10. Here, the Organizing Committee also presented 1,000 notebooks and many Mid-Autumn Festival toys and candies to the children.
On September 23, the delegation came to give gifts to support students in two border communes of Muong Ai and Muong Tip (Ky Son). These are the two border communes of Nghe An that suffered the most damage in the two recent floods.
Up to now, the lives of local people are still disrupted and the number of students at schools in the two communes is still insufficient.

From Highway 7, the delegation traveled 80 km of mountain and forest roads, bringing meaningful gifts from many groups and individuals joining hands to support students in these two localities.
In particular, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province called for and presented 1,000 warm coats; 2 sets of computers to 2 teams, 30 scholarships worth 10 million VND to students of two communes of Muong Ai and Muong Tip.
The Central Youth Union awarded 15 Vu A Dinh scholarships worth 15 million VND. The organizing committee of the program “Mid-Autumn Festival in Flooded Areas - Sharing Love” presented moon cakes, books, uniforms, slippers, blankets and many other items.
On September 24, the delegation traveled to Yen Tinh commune (Tuong Duong district) to give Mid-Autumn gifts and necessities to students there.
Five days earlier, Yen Tinh commune was hit by a terrible flash flood that occurred overnight. The school was buried in mud, and local authorities had to mobilize hundreds of people to deal with the aftermath.

Recently, due to the impact of storms No. 3 and No. 4, the mountainous areas of Nghe An have suffered consecutive floods with serious consequences.
Faced with that situation, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, Tien Phong Newspaper, and Nghe An Border Guard Command launched a call for community support to help children in the highlands celebrate a meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival.
Within just 20 days, the program's Organizing Committee received gifts from philanthropists and agencies with a total value of more than 500 million VND given to students at 5 locations in 3 districts of Con Cuong, Ky Son, and Tuong Duong.
