Previously, around October 2018, through reconnaissance work, the General Investigation Team (Ky Son District Police) discovered a drug retail trading location in Luong Minh Commune, Tuong Duong District, the border area between the two border districts of Ky Son and Tuong Duong, led by La Van Tao.
To deal with the authorities, they equipped themselves with guns, grenades and assigned "pilots" to guard and keep watch outside very carefully.
Retailers and addicts who want to buy drugs must follow the rules set by La Van Tao and his accomplices. Accordingly, to buy “goods”, they must pass the “secret code” check conducted by the guards. When transactions between La Van Tao and his “partners” are carried out, his accomplices will hold loaded guns and grenades to stand guard, ready to fight back if discovered by the authorities.
After more than 2 months of persistent reconnaissance, understanding the methods, tricks, and movements of La Van Tao and his accomplices, the General Investigation Team agreed on a plan to eradicate this complex drug den.

At around 1 a.m. on February 26, when it was certain that La Van Tao and his accomplices were fast asleep, the reconnaissance teams were ordered to simultaneously raid the camp. La Van Tao immediately grabbed a loaded homemade gun and tried to fight back, but was quickly knocked down, restrained and captured by the General Investigation Team scouts. Taking advantage of the chaotic situation, Tao's accomplices cut through the forest and escaped.
At the police station, La Van Tao initially admitted to his crimes. According to his drug addiction, Tao often went to Laos to buy drugs for use. Later, realizing that drug trafficking could bring in big profits, he switched to buying drugs and then dividing them into small packages to sell retail for profit.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Ky Son District is completing the dossier to handle the subject according to the provisions of law.
