Nghe An bans ships from going to sea during tropical depression
(Baonghean.vn) - The Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 18/CD.UBND at 4:00 p.m. on October 9, 2017 regarding the prohibition of ships from going to sea during the tropical depression.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this afternoon and tonight, October 9, the tropical depression is likely to strengthen into a storm, making landfall in the North Central provinces and causing heavy rain on land. To ensure the safety of fishermen and boats, the Chairman of the People's Committee - Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requests the Chairman of the People's Committee - Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the districts of Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Cua Lo town, Hoang Mai town; the Provincial Border Guard Command; the Department of Fisheries to implement the following contents:
1. Use all means and measures to inform ships at sea of the storm's developments, guide and call on ships to return to safe shelters or escape from dangerous areas. Provide guidance on anchoring ships at shelters (including tourist boats and transport ships); organize the relocation and anchoring of aquaculture cages and floating houses to ensure safety.
2. All ships and means of transport are prohibited from going to sea from 5:00 p.m. on October 9, 2017; Ships operating at sea must return to shore to anchor safely or leave the danger zone before the above time.
3. Regularly report actual results to the Provincial People's Committee through the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control./.
