(Baonghean.vn) - 6 communes in Nam Dan district benefit from cardiovascular disease diagnosis technology: Kim Lien, Khanh Son, Nam Loc, Nam Cat, Nam Thai and Van Dien. On the morning of April 1, in Nam Thai commune, Nam Dan district, the Department of Information Technology of the Ministry of Health transferred the Tele-ECG remote electrocardiogram monitoring technology to the Nghe An health sector.

Realizing the policy of developing smart healthcare, the Department of Information Technology of the Ministry of Health has piloted the application of Tele-ECG technology at 26 key health stations of the Ministry of Health to turn these stations into model stations, moving towards cooperation in scientific research and training of specialized human resources in information technology in healthcare.

Tele-ECG technology is an integrated system of modern devices, including: Electrocardiograph, 3G/4G network connection and data transmission system and software system. This system helps patients when measuring electrocardiogram at the commune health station but can be read by cardiovascular experts at the Central and return the results within only 6 minutes, immediately detecting the risk of early myocardial infarction, so that patients can promptly go to the cardiovascular center.

In addition, the system also helps patients avoid additional costs for travel and accommodation when they have to transfer to another hospital; contributing to solving the overload situation at upper-level hospitals. The system also helps improve the professional capacity of district and commune hospitals through remote consultation, diagnosis, medical examination and treatment, seminars and medical technical training.

Although the 6 commune health stations of Nam Dan district (Kim Lien, Khanh Son, Nam Loc, Nam Cat, Nam Thai and Van Dien) are not on the list of 26 key commune health stations of the Ministry of Health, they still benefit from this pilot project. And the 6 commune health stations of Nam Dan are the first communes in the country to deploy the Tele-ECG remote electrocardiogram system. After being transferred to the 6 commune health stations in Nam Dan, the Tele-ECG remote electrocardiogram system will be transferred to 26 key commune health stations nationwide.

Immediately after the handover ceremony, some people of Nam Thai commune had their cardiovascular health checked directly using the Tele-ECG remote electrocardiogram system.
